Hi everyone! This year, I am lucky and honored to be running in the Chicago Marathon. This would be my first Marathon and I would like it to be meaningful and memorable hence I am running to support WWF Philippines, an organization that works to improve Filipino lives by crafting solutions to climate change, providing sustainable livelihood programs, and conserving the country's richest marine and land habitats. This cause is incredibly close to my heart, not just because of my love for nature but also because of my brother, he passed 10 years ago but he instilled in me a deep passion for environmental conservation. My brother has always been a steadfast advocate for protecting our environment especially during those times when our city was upon the escalating threat of cutting trees for the benefit of a private establishment. His dedication to preserving the trees in our city has profoundly influenced my own views and actions. Me and my siblings grew up surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Benguet, and every time I'm back home it gives me the nostalgia of enjoying nature during my childhood. All of this inspires me to think more deeply about our world and our role in its stewardship.By running this marathon, I want to honor my brother's advocacy. WWF Philippines works tirelessly to protect endangered species, conserve our rich ecosystems, and support communities in sustainable practices. Your generous support can help them continue their vital work in protecting our planet’s most vulnerable creatures and places. Please join me in this journey. Together, we can make every mile count for wildlife conservation. Every donation, big or small is a step closer to our mission.Thank you guys for your support! :)

"Helping doesn't necessarily mean it should be confine in what we do or by giving only money or donations. Helping can be in any form, any channels, or any institution as long as the intentions are true-- like WWF."Charlene Lucas, RPsy, TITC-CT is a registered Psychologist, an International Clinical Traumatologist, an Organizational Behavior Consultant-Consultant Psychologist at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She is a member and is listed in the International Registry of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. She was part of the top 3 of the 100 Most Influential Filipino Women on LinkedIn 2021. Additionally, she was included in the top 10 Most Inspiring Filipinos on LinkedIn 2021. She focuses on mental health specifically on adult psychotherapy, specialized in handling: Trauma, Abuse, Work related stress, Burnout, Loss or grief, and Stabilization of emotions. Charlene is currently taking her Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology at University of Santo Tomas. What are food sheds?A food shed is a food production system that adopts natural and green farming technologies to produce a steady supply of quality vegetables and poultry products. The food shed farming system supports Filipino families who have no direct access to food sources like farmland, forests, or municipal fishing grounds. Families can now be assured of a stable food source while applying ecologically friendly practices, such as waste recycling through composting, rainwater harvesting for irrigation, natural pest and disease control, and integrated nutrient management to produce healthy and quality food (vegetables and poultry) products for their families and their communities. In essence, foodsheds represent the very best of Filipino values - resourcefulness, helpfulness, pakikipag-kapwa, and bayanihan. What is WWF-Philippines doing?Millions of Filipino families are dependent on agriculture and fisheries for sustenance and livelihood. As the climate crisis continues to affect the stability of food production systems, Filipinos have been facing high levels of food and nutrition deficiency. Climate change impacts have significantly reduced food availability and increased its prices. On top of that, the COVID-19 pandemic has also disrupted supply chains thereby further exacerbating poverty and food insecurity, especially for low-income communities.Through our Sustainable Food Systems Program, WWF-Philippines helps capacitate low-income communities with food shed farming system knowledge and the use of climate adaptive technology. This aims to protect and empower these communities against hunger caused by increase in prices and other disruptions. How can you help?Food security can only exist when all people at all times have access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.By donating to WWF-Philippines, you are contributing to:1. Promoting climate-adaptive technologies to secure food for families2. Cushioning the impacts of the pandemic to food security3. Establishing a sustainable agriculture-based livelihoodEach foodshed will directly provide livelihood to two (2) caretakers who will manage the overall production of the food shed and facilitate linkage to local community buyers of the produce. Each unit of foodshed will cater to an immediate local market of around 30 FAMILIES in Negros Occidental for access to fresh, healthy and hyperlocal food.

My name is Kurly de Guzman. As a professional Career & Leadership Coach, I value growth, sustainable change and continuous improvement. Through working with my clients, I’ve seen how each has his/her own unique potential and how intentional and well-designed actions are beneficial in the long term. As a parent, I value the same, and also constantly strive to co-create a strong foundation of family values, life skills and the love and appreciation for nature. This is why I support WWF-Philippines’ Build Back Better Boats Project. It’s more than just creating a quick fix to the effect of typhoons to our fisherfolk. It is a sustainable and long-term solution that will make the boats faster, better and stronger, and also support livelihood beyond fishing. I know that together, and in our own little way, we can do something to build not just better boats, but better lives and a better future.BeneficiaryWWF-Philippines' Build Back Better Boats Project aims to create a new modern design of boat that will be faster, better, stronger so that it can be of use to fisherfolk for decades to come. Curtis "Xeno" Kornegay III is a kind-of self-directed, passionate conservationist who has always believed that humanity has a responsibility to do better for wildlife, specifically firstly for wildlife's sake and right to dignity rather than as a secondary outcome of a humanitarian initiative. He has always wanted to save the orangutan's tree, ever since he saw the video of the orangutan fighting the bulldozer, an image he never fails to forget. Mr. Curtis wants to be a part in taking a personal role to lead and inspire other average people to spread the message that "...we don't have to leave it to billionaires to save the animals; we have the power to help them ourselves." Sometimes, Curtis asks himself, "why do I have to help, why can't Bill Gates handle this?" and I imagine that orangutan asking me "Why can't you help me?"  He believes he does not have an answer for that, so he has been working very hard to do everything that he can to make a difference. Mr. Curtis knows that he can't do it all by himself, so he is trying to create opportunities to work with different individuals and to see if we can all do this together, then we cannot fail.BeneficiaryCurtis "Xeno" Kornegay III will be supporting a tuna fishing community (Tiwi community in Albay, Philippines). In order to support the community, WWF-Philippines has held a series of training on tuna value-adding and processing. Lagonoy Gulf and Mindoro Strait are major fishing grounds for artisanal fishers. WWF-Philippines has been working on two handline yellowfin tuna Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs) in these areas since 2011 and has a deep and strong relationship with the local fishing communities. These communities have been involved in many WWF efforts on sustainable fishing practices, from initiatives to prevent post-harvest losses, to social enterprise development, to important innovations in seafood traceability. They have been true partners for sustainable fisheries, and model communities for responsible fishing practices. These FIPs are also part of the unit of assessment for Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification, and are the first in the Philippines to enter such a process. While these communities have made significant strides towards sustainable fisheries, they are still struggling under the effects of extreme weather events, such as typhoons, as well as the disruption of their supply chains due to COVID-19. In order to support these communities, WWF-Philippines has held a series of training on tuna value-adding and processing. 104 women in Lagonoy Gulf and 120 women in Mindoro Strait have participated in hands-on workshops to learn how to process tuna meat into products such as tuna longganisa, tuna burgers, and tuna nuggets. These trainings are meant to enable women to start their own small businesses and add value to the tuna caught in the area. However, despite the training, the women have not been able to make use of their new skills because of a lack of equipment and resources to pursue these tuna processing activities. WWF-Philippines proposes the provision of 21 starter kits for each municipality involved in the FIPs (15 in Lagonoy Gulf and 6 in Mindoro Strait). Each starter kit will be comprised of the following items:1. Established in July 2018, A'TIN Philippines (formerly Aurum PH) is the pioneer fanbase of SB19 — the fastest-rising P-Pop boy group in the country.Mission:To serve as a link that connects SB19 closer to their fans; support the group's projects; provide related content and updates; create activities that promote camaraderie within the fandom, and uphold the spirit of Bayanihan by reaching out to communities that are in need.Vision:Become an effective instrument in promoting SB19 and Original Filipino Music (OPM) as a whole on a global scale.World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines is a non-profit organization which aims to conserve biodiversity in the country while promoting sustainable development. To commemorate SB19's 3rd anniversary, A'Tin Philippines is partnering with WWF Philippines in raising funds to support our environmental front liners and their communities. Just like what the lyrics of the SB19 song 'ikako' says, "Oh, sigurado, babangon tayo. Kaya'ng lahat, ikaw at ako'' (Oh, I'm sure, we will rise again. We can do anything, you and I), we believe that together as a fandom, we can make a difference by helping our modern-day heroes and their families survive during these challenging times.BENEFICIARYTuna Value-Adding in Lagonoy Gulf and Mindoro Strait Lagonoy Gulf and Mindoro Strait are major fishing grounds for artisanal fishers. While these communities have made significant strides towards sustainable fisheries, they are still struggling under the effects of extreme weather events, such as typhoons, as well as the disruption of their supply chains due to COVID-19.In order to support these communities, WWF-Philippines has held a series of training on tuna value-adding and processing. Utensils2. Knives3. Chopping board4. Frying pan5. Steamer6. Measuring spoons & cups7. Food processor8. Tongs9. Butane gas & stove10. Grammer weighing scale11. Mixing bowl12. Aluminum trays13. Colander14. Sealer15. Raw ingredients (e.g. vegetables, fish, seasonings)Access to the starter kits and management of the Ice Retailing Enterprise will be handled and monitored by the respective Tuna Fishers Association in each area.

Crescent Jun Philippines is a local fanbase established in 2017 that aims to support and promote Wen Junhui of the K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN. From simple gatherings like birthday cup sleeve events to collecting funds for significant causes, Crescent Jun PH works hard and explore various ways to unite the fans towards achieving common goals.   2021 Just recently, Crescent Jun PH led and organized the purchase of more than 300 copies of Wen Junhui's first solo cover magazine in China, ViVi magazine. Through this initiative, we were able to gather no less than Php 20,800 and used it to boost the sales of the said magazine.   2020 Last year, amidst the pandemic, Crescent Jun PH participated in a fundraising project named "Crazy for Jun" by @michiyo_zhang and @junhuist17 — fellow Carats.   They released a collection of Wen Junhui birthday merchandise for a cause across several countries. The profits were donated to Vietnam's Hospital for Tropical Diseases and to the GoFundMe account of George Floyd's daughter.    2018 In 2018, in collaboration with a Chinese Fanbase, Jun's Fortepiano (@JFortepiano), Crescent Jun PH was able to gather and donate 968.53 HKD which was used to support Wen Junhui's song release.    Aside from these donation drives, Crescent Jun PH remains true to its words as a Non-Profit Support Account for Junhui by actively conducting giveaway events and streaming activities. To date, CJPH already sponsored more than 20 giveaways that aim to give back to the fans who have been continuously supporting the fanbase's activities. As we face this difficult time due to the pandemic which affects everyone across the globe, it is with great reflection that we decided to give back to the community and nature. The quarantine restrictions inhibit us from doing our usual daily activities, but this limitation also opened opportunities for us to contemplate on how we can contribute to the betterment of the environment that we are currently living in and at the same time discover opportunities on how we can extend our help to others given the situation. This year, we are given the chance to raise funds for WWF-Philippines' beneficiaries and we are grateful for the opportunity. This collaboration with WWF-Philippines will ensure that none of our efforts will go to waste and that every cent earned will be for the attainment of WWF’s goals “of improving Filipino lives by crafting solutions to climate change, providing sustainable livelihood programs, and conserving the country's richest marine and land habitats.”As the famous saying goes “every effort count” and with tiny collective efforts, we can surely go a long way. We hope that everyone who will come across this post will share the same hearts as ours: to share and be a blessing to others.

Being one of the earliest and biggest membership in the United Architects of the Philippines, the UAP Makati Chapter strongly believes in continuously contributing positive action, under the umbrella of UAP National Board’s “SERVANT LEADERSHIP” theme. To date the UAP Makati Chapter is fortunate enough to share a rich history of luminaries in the architecture industry. We have been supporting numerous programs for the children, for local communities, for the natural and the built environment, and also for preserving cultural heritage, not to mention promoting the architectural profession. For your appreciation, our Chapter’s theme this year is ARQUIVIVO, in Ancient Greek ARQUI means “Chief, Highest or Most Extreme” and VIVO, in Italian means “I LIVE” and in Spanish “ALIVE”, in which we aim to breathe new life into the chapter as we press on in these tumultuous times. We want to move towards the light of hope, at the end of the long dark tunnel, while aligning with the UAP National Board’s vision of “Members-First, Unity in Diversity and Good Governance.” Thank you in advance for your continuous support!

B.I Philippines was established on October 14, 2013 in support of Kim Hanbin, known by his stage name B.I. As a fanbase, we are here to support B.I in any way that we can and will do our very best to promote him here in the Philippines. We will stand with B.I for as long as we can and walk on a flowery path. The beneficiary of this fundraiser is WWF-Philippines. WWF-Philippines has been working as a national organization of the WWF network since 1997. As the 26th national organization in the network, WWF-Philippines has successfully been implementing various conservation projects to help protect some of the most biologically-significant ecosystems in Asia. WWF-Philippines works to improve Filipino lives by crafting solutions to climate change, providing sustainable livelihood programs, and conserving the country's richest marine and land habitats. Their vision is globally significant biodiversity is properly protected and harnessed to sustain life for all and where species, habitats, and resources form part of a unique heritage that every Filipino is proud of. WWF champions conservation in areas where biodiversity matters the most. Their mission is to stop, and eventually reverse the accelerating degradation of the Philippine environment – to build a future where Filipinos live in harmony with nature. The inspiration for the WWF logo came from Chi-Chi: a giant panda that was living at the London Zoo in 1961, the same year WWF was created. WWF’s founders were aware of the need for a strong, recognizable symbol that would overcome all language barriers. They agreed that the big, furry animal with her appealing, black-patched eyes would make an excellent choice. The design of the logo has evolved over the past five decades, but the giant panda’s distinctive features remain an integral part of WWF’s treasured and unmistakable symbol. Today, WWF’s trademark is recognized as a universal symbol for the conservation movement. Please visit our website to learn more: https://wwf.org.ph/.

Teaching The Next Generation of Planet Protectors: Environmental Education for Filipino ChildrenThe global COVID-19 pandemic has made the world realize how deeply connected the health of the planet is to the health of human society. While questions remain about the exact origins of COVID-19, all available evidence suggests that it is a zoonotic disease, meaning it jumped from wildlife to humans. Protecting our wildlife, their habitats, and the planet we live in remains one of the best courses of action to take if we want to prevent similar or worse pandemics from happening in the future, and in order to prevent something, it is important that we equip those who will be potentially facing it with the necessary knowledge, tools, and education. The next generation - our children and our grandchildren - are the future, and we want to help equip them for the future that they are about to face.At WWF-Philippines, we believe that love and appreciation for the environment and for all beings that live on this planet start from childhood. This is the reason why it is very important to us to work with the academe to promote environmental consciousness and encourage environmental action among the youth. Experiencing first-hand the wonder of nature and knowing more about our interconnectedness shape habits, mindsets, lifestyles, and behavior in children, and our Environmental Education team provides “turo” sessions around the country in order to share this with more students every day.  With your generous support, Filipino children will learn from our biodiversity and conservation module where they will be taught about the interrelationships of various components in the environment, as well as different wildlife species and their habitats. At a young age, they will be trained to integrate the environment into the different aspects of their lives, which will help and encourage them to take the initiative to protect our environment, and in doing so, to protect their fellow Filipinos and their country. As a supporter, YOU can get the chance to join the turo sessions and to help teach the next generation of planet protectors! By donating to this cause, you can get the chance to join our Environmental Education team and be selected to serve as an environmental teacher for a day! Education is very important in order to spur people into action, and it is also important in making people realize how closely connected the health of the planet is to the health of human society. By helping provide much-needed environmental education to young Filipinos, you are not only helping us #ChangeTheEnding for our country and our planet, but you are also helping in potentially preventing future pandemics from happening.
