SimplyGiving conducted an online fundraising workshop for charities and changemakers in Bali on 15 August. 10 guests, ranging from partners like ROLE, GeoTourism Indonesia and Indonesian Street Children Foundation gathered and engaged with our Social Business Director, Cheryl Low, sharing fundraising experiences for nonprofits in Indonesia.

Cheryl visited Sunrise CB in Butterworth, a start-up social enterprise that creates sustainable livelihoods via baking homemade cookies for the disadvantaged communities. Their new cookie kitchen is fitted out with funding that was "unlocked" from WEBE Community, through support from SimplyGiving. Sunrise CB currently employs 11 beneficiaries including graduates from PEKTAS (School for Mentally Disabled Children), and have conducted food safety training and e-commerce training with their beneficiaries too. Sunrise CB is producing an exclusive range of speciality cookies for sale. You can support by buying their cookies on SimplyGiving. Congratulations to Mdm Esther Lau for her grit and determination in starting this social enterprise!

And onto Penang! SimplyGiving held a small workshop for charities in Penang on 30 August, attended by BOLD Association for Children with Special Needs, St Nicholas' Home, Sunrise CB and volunteer fundraisers. The group had an active discussion on maximising the networking effect of peer-to-peer fundraising.

On July 25th, Alex Dela Cruz, our Business Development Manager, conducted a workshop with close to 30 charities and more than 40 attendees at our workshop in the Philippines. Most of the charities were amazed to discover that a lot can be done with SimplyGiving platform. Aside from online fundraising, they were excited to learn that they can use it for charity events registration, merchandising and ticketing. They were also thrilled about the regular giving option that the SimplyGiving technology can offer.
