Time to detox!I want to make myself a present: detox seriously for a fresh and energized start into the new year by taking on a "hipsterary" challenge: January and February without alcohol and without meat (growing of hipster beard could be optional but may raise more donations. I think). So 2 months vegetarian and 2 months no booze. That from a guy, who really, really loves his craft beers and good wines! But besides for sure doing good to myself, why not trying to support the environment and take some with me on this abstinence challenge? 2 good causes in 2 months: as beneficiary I chose WWF for their efforts for the environment, the planet AND animals. So let's see, if I can convince friends, family and others to support myself and/or to join in as well.

Recently, Elliot spent some time out at the seas in Southeast Asia. He had a wonderful time snorkelling, swimming and sailing. He saw beautiful fishes and corals including sharks! But he also saw lots of plastic and rubbish floating around the sea. He heard that if nothing is done to conserve the ocean and slow down global warming, soon all the corals will die and there will be more plastic than fish in the sea by 2050. Elliot would like to do his part to prevent this from happening... he hopes that you will too.

The premise for Walk the World, is simple. It is one day in the calendar when Informa employees leave the office and take part in a walk together, connecting with other colleagues and raising money for a chosen local charity as they do. This year we’re doing things a little differently and instead of just walking, we’re going to Walk-the-World-FOR-the-World and Clean a Beach by picking up litter as we walk to raise money for the selected charity – Worldwide Fund for Nature. http://www.wwf.sg/   We have pledged to work with Worldwide Fund for Nature to raise $25,000 for this worthwhile cause and we need your help!

I love animal books. I love my pet dog Buddy. My name means “Lion of God” and I roar like a lion! Instead of presents for my 1st birthday, join me to make a difference by contributing to WWF’s conservation efforts. The mission of WWF is to ensure a future for both people and nature. WWF has been working to conserve Asia Pacific’s wealth of biodiversity for over four decades. Areas of their work include:Air - Clean air starts with healthy forests. WWF protects rainforests and ensures clean air through on ground monitoring and restoration. Their efforts transform businesses in forestry-based industries towards sustainable practices.Oceans - The oceans and its resources need our protection now more than ever. WWF protects ocean and coastal habitats through sustainable fisheries and the proper management of ocean resources. Wildlife - The future of Southeast Asia’s iconic species hangs in the balance. WWF secures their habitats and stops wildlife illegal trade by working with governments, rallying communities and supporting anti-poaching rangers.Tigers - WWF is committed to double the number of wild tigers by 2022. All 13 tiger range governments have committed to make this goal a reality. Food - We will consume more food in the next 40 years than the last 8,000 years combined. The only way to ensure food security for Singapore is through sustainable consumption by consumers and businesses.Climate - WWF creates climate resilience by helping communities adapt and supporting the transition to a renewables-led world. By bringing the masses together for Earth Hour, it inspires individuals to take action for the planet.People - By educating the youths of today, we can change the world of tomorrow. WWF nurtures future leaders for the environment by giving youths in Singapore and around the world the skills to create positive change in their communities.Thank you for donating generously to build a future where people live in harmony with nature, a future in which your children and I will be a part of. And thank you for celebrating my first year in this future!Love,Arielle

We are participating members of GLISH (Great Lolita International Scavenger Hunt) - a week-long scavenger hunt that is done in the name of fun & charity, and our little way of giving back to society using our frills! This year in accordance to our theme and team name (Team Elephant), we will be supporting WWF Singapore to protect these gentle giants from ruthless poachers who are illegally poaching their skin as a 'miracle cure'. Elephants (including mother and calves) are shot with poisonous darts and are left to die in excruciating pain before they are skinned. Your contribution will help set up and equipped ranger teams who can be deployed to priority areas to protect these elephants! More information on our cause can be found here : http://www.glishweek.com/charities.html https://www.savetheirskins.com/ Join us on our journey on instagram account (@glish.teamelephant) as we'll be posting photos & videos of our set of challenges that will hopefully make you laugh (and donate to our cause at the same time!)

Hi, thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. I couldn't believe it when they said there are only 3200 tigers left in the wild (down from 100,000 a century ago). According to experts, these beautiful wild cats may be extinct in 20-30 years time unless conservation efforts succeed. WWF aims to double the number of tigers by 2022 through tiger conservation and they need your help. I painted a tiger using acrylic paint on canvas for the first time and hope to raise some money for WWF's I for Tiger campaign. Through simplygiving.com you can make safe and secure donations. The proceeds of your support are immediately sent directly to WWF - World Wide Fund For Nature (Singapore) Limited. No amount of donation is too small. Every little counts! Also, I would be happy to give away the painting to anyone who has a place for it. Thanks in advance. Melissa Chin

Do you believe in a sustainable ecosystem? I've been a long time WWF supporter precisely because of the question above, and for the longest time, been searching for something worthwhile for me to do. There are only 3,200 tigers left in the wild today purely due to human's greed. I feel, it's time for me to give back. I asked some friends what would they pay to see me do. After a couple of days brainstorming, I've decided to participate in a Vertical Marathon. Info below: On 24 November 2013, I will be running in the Swissotel Vertical Marathon 2013 in Singapore. Why this? Firstly, I dislike marathons as I had a knee injury before. But I enjoy climbing stairs, so what's a better union of sports that a vertical marathon? Secondly, I hope to reach out to as many sports enthusiasts as possible to donate to the i For Tigers Campaign. This is my pledge to WWF's i For Tigers Campaign:- for the next 60 days, I will dedicate time and effort and sponsor my own training so that I complete the marathon. All I'm asking you is to contribute to WWF's i For Tigers Campaign as a sign of cheering me on. No amount too big or too small. Spread the words, spread it far! Through simplygiving.com you can make safe and secure donations to sponsor me. The proceeds of your support are immediately sent directly to my charity. Using this given platform is really simple and most importantly it's also a really cost efficient way for the charity to raise funds. My page allows you to follow my progress; share it with friends; voice encouragement or even join me and get involved yourself! I thank you for your generosity and for your support! Shee Li, Kuang P/S: Photos of the Vertical Marathon will be posted on Facebook after the run.

Have you ever thought what can you do for tigers? Really! Yes! For tigers! But why? The global tiger population has whittled down from 100,000 a century ago to just 3,200 now. This is happening due to: • Poaching, which includes the illegal trade of tiger parts and products • Retributive killing due to human-tiger conflicts. • Habitat loss and fragmentation, including from illegal logging and commercial plantations. If you can relate further, the haze is the result of such. If we don’t act now, we will lose all of them by 2022. WWF Tigers Initiative is working to secure political will, action and funding to double wild tiger numbers by 2022. Please support me through my challenge of going vegetarian (for 2 weeks… for a start) by donating to my fundraising page. The funds will be directed to the initiatives and my page allows you to follow on my fundraising progress and you can even share with your friends. Please dig deep and donate, every little counts! I am celebrating my birthday very soon and this year I promise to make it more meaningful. Growing up, I came to understand how people are so much connected with nature and the species that live in it. That is why for this year, I’m taking up the challenge to celebrate my big day for tigers through WWF’s I For Tigers Campaign. It is a sad reality that from 100,000 a century ago, wild tigers are now down to just 3,200. Tigers like all other animals have no voice. As humans, we have the power to give them a voice and I’m doing so here at my fundraising page for WWF. My challenge will be to celebrate a tiger-themed birthday party with less fortunate kids in my hometown in the Philippines and be able to educate them about tigers and other species and how these animals are very much connected to our lives. When young kids start caring for the environment and have respect for creatures that live in it --- tigers, other animals, trees and people, we can all make a positive change in this world. Please help me spread the word by donating to WWF through my fundraising page. Your donations will go directly to WWF’s conservation work as they aim to double the number of tigers in the wild by 2022. Know more about their work at wwf.sg. Using this donation platform from Simply Giving is really simple and most importantly it's also a really cost efficient way for the charity to raise funds. My page allows you to follow my progress; share it with friends; voice encouragement or even join me and get involved yourself! Please dig deep and donate. Every little bit counts!
