Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital

For the past 46 years, Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital has touched the lives of countless cancer patients. From being the first cancer palliative care hospital which was established in 1976 by the FMDM Sisters, MMCH has grown to be a specialized cancer hospital with a high-caliber, committed team of clinical oncologists, oncology nurses, radiation therapists, and state-of-the-art radiotherapy machines such as TomoTherapy and CyberKnife. Being a not-for-profit Hospital, MMCH has no Government funding and is reliant on public donations to sustain a small loss or breakeven. Even though the Hospital has gone through economic ups and downs, MMCH is steadfast in our mission with the donation support of the community to continue the legacy of our FMDM founders to provide life-honoring cancer treatment and compassionate support to needy cancer patients regardless of their beliefs and background.

This year, from January to September 2021, MMCH has disbursed RM1,188,815 to help 348 needy cancer patients. Last year, 2020, the Hospital has disbursed a total of RM 1.66 million (RM 1,666,301.00) to help 435 patients. On average, MMCH has been disbursing up to RM 1.5 million a year for the past 5 years. All the donations raised will help Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital to continue its mission to provide cancer care to all cancer patients, regardless of their financial status, race, religion, or age.
