The KPMG Foundation is proud to be supporting the ASPAC Team fundraising efforts for the KPMG India COVID appeal. The pandemic situation in India is becoming increasingly tragic. They are currently facing a surge of COVID cases that is overwhelming the healthcare system. Many of us have family, friends and colleagues we work closely with in our KPMG India and KGS teams who are being impacted by this crisis. Our offices are currently closed and the local teams have taken steps to support the needs of employees and their families, to enhance medical insurance, provide counseling support and help with medical consultation access. Even with this, it clearly remains a difficult time. KPMG remains focused on the health and wellbeing of our people and many KPMG Firms are thinking about what they can do to provide assistance. The ASPAC Team are fundraising through a fitness challenge: 10 DAYS  |  100 KM  |  $10,000 USD From 10 May to 19 May 2021, team members will challenge themselves and each other over 10 days to complete 100km* (walk/run/swim or double distance if cycle) to raise $10,000 USD. If we reach our goal of raising $10,000 USD, then ASPAC will match the $10,000 so our total doubles to $20,000 USD.Please help us reach our overall ambitious fundraising target of $10,000 USD (converted on the platform to HKD 80,000) by clicking on the “Donate Now” button. Why ? - to help raise funds for those in need in India!Setting the goal - 3K HKD (approx. 400USD) Getting to it - by  combining Running or Swimming (in the cold ocean) or both in or order to reach10KM per day.The Equipment - a pair of running shoes and swim pants (NOT speedos) The Environment - The Sea between Denmark and Sweden for short cold swims and the Danish nature for runs. The problem - I haven't been in that cold water for 15 years and that was just once.. secondly longest I ran in a stretch the last year is 7KM.Why in Denmark - I am visiting my sick parents and will make use of the nice nature and sea for the challenge

Our storyBrad & I work with our Indian colleaugues on a daily basis and therefore we are very much aware of the challenging situation in India.  We are grateful that we can now join hands with our colleaugues in ASPAC to participate in this team challenge of 10 days 100 km to raise fund for this cause. Your donation will make a big difference and no donation is too small.   Thanks, Betty LooThrough our daily interactions with colleagues in India, we’re hearing first-hand the challenges being faced there. I’m all for this fundraiser. However, when the idea came up, I imagined shaving off an eyebrow or at a stretch, skipping lunch for a week. I did not see myself in a 100km challenge. What can I say? All I can think of is “thanks Betty“. Still, we are committed and I tell myself that every step, step, step, step of the 100ks. Support the fundraiser by supporting us, please.  Thanks, Brad Johnson ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The ASPAC Team are fundraising through a fitness challenge: 10 DAYS  |  100 KM  |  $10,000 USDFrom 10 May to 19 May 2021, team members will challenge themselves and each other over 10 days to complete 100km (walk/run/swim/cycle) to raise $10,000 USD. I am excited to be part of this KPMG ASPAC challenge for a number of reasons. First and foremost I am keen to lend support to the heartbreaking situation in India and hope that every little bit of fundraising that we contribute will help save lives. I am also keen to kick start my love of exercise which has seen me go from running half marathons in Siem Reap (Cambodia) and Halong Bay (Vietnam) at the end of 2019 to almost nothing since then!   A group of colleagues from the ASPAC team are fundraising for KPMG’s India COVID appeal. Those who know me, know I like a challenge but 5 days of trekking on remote parts of the Great Wall will be a big test with some of the days lasting up to 8 hours! I also have to get up early every morning and we all know how difficult I find that! Please see the story below and make a donation if you can. Thank you in advance! KalanOn April 29 – May 05 2018, myself and 99 others from HSBC and KPMG in Asia will take on five long gruelling days of trekking across the Great Wall of China.  We will be covering hundreds of thousands of steps across some of the most remote parts of the Great Wall of China. The purpose of this trip is to raise a significant amount of money for those less fortunate than ourselves. The trip is self-funded and all donations received will go directly to charity.   I have set a target of HKD5,000 for our long-standing HK charity partner Project WeCan, a Business-in-Community initiative aiming to provide disadvantaged secondary school students with additional resources and care to empower them for pursuing higher education and future careers. Please sponsor me on this mental and physical challenge! Link here – https://www.simplygiving.com/Event/GreatWallChallenge2018

I’m at it again, responding to the call of the wild in the name of charity. This time, I’ll be joining 50 colleagues from KPMG and 50 former colleagues from HSBC to trek over some of the hardest, most unforgiving sections of the Great Wall of China over five days in May. This may not be as hot as the Sahara or as cold as the Gobi, but I am assured it will be hard, hard, hard. Climbing steps made for horses, negotiating crumbling sections of wall, going up and down more than on Hong Kong’s Maclehose Trail, and dealing with a host of other discomforts.Far more importantly, all this is to help underprivileged children in Hong Kong gain a valuable education so they can have a fighting chance at growing in a harsh, unforgiving capitalist society.Every dollar you donate will help a child with their journey through life, so please, please give generously.

All proceeds raised by me and my 49 colleagues in Hong Kong will be donated to our long-standing charity partner Project WeCan, a Business-in-Community initiative aiming to provide disadvantaged secondary school students with additional resources and care to empower them for pursuing higher education and future careers.
