My Story
I’m at it again, responding to the call of the wild in the name of charity. This time, I’ll be joining 50 colleagues from KPMG and 50 former colleagues from HSBC to trek over some of the hardest, most unforgiving sections of the Great Wall of China over five days in May. This may not be as hot as the Sahara or as cold as the Gobi, but I am assured it will be hard, hard, hard. Climbing steps made for horses, negotiating crumbling sections of wall, going up and down more than on Hong Kong’s Maclehose Trail, and dealing with a host of other discomforts.
Far more importantly, all this is to help underprivileged children in Hong Kong gain a valuable education so they can have a fighting chance at growing in a harsh, unforgiving capitalist society.
