First established in 1954 as Universal Children's Day, World Children’s Day is celebrated on 20 November each year to promote international togetherness, increase awareness of children worldwide, and improve children's welfare. This year, Global Community Impact Asia Pacific (GCI APAC) and Consumer Health Asia Pacific are continuing our collaboration with Save the Children in celebrating World Children’s Day. At Johnson’s®, we are committed to give every baby the healthiest start to life. At GCI APAC, women and children’s health remains a key focus area. The ability to play is a right that all children should enjoy and is integral to any child’s development & wellbeing. Due to the ongoing pandemic and other circumstances like poverty and violence, many children are denied this crucial aspect in their lives. We aim to champion children’s rights to play and create new opportunities for them. Did you know? In 2021, UNICEF estimated that due to COVID-19, around an additional 100 million children were living in multidimensional poverty – without access to essential needs like education, healthcare, housing, nutrition, sanitation or water. As a symbol of our support for these underprivileged children, between 20 Nov to 31 Dec, J&J will be holding a dollar to dollar matching of any amount donated by employees and all proceeds will go to Save the Children Philippines.

We are De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde students majoring in consular and diplomatic affairs, and we are temporarily interning at Save The Children Philippines. Being socially responsible is one of the Benildean core values, thus as Benildean students, we want to make the most of our time with Save The Children before our internship ends.Individuals and organizations who practice social responsibility must operate in the interests of their society as a whole. Hi, my name is Jam Antkowiak.When I was a grade one pupil, I was molested one early morning by a bystander at my elementary school. Luckily, before it got worst, I was rescued by a concerned person who from a distance saw the bystander taking me to the back building. The concerned person was jogging around the playground. This was a public school. This was a time when parents believed it was safe for their kids to walk and go to school on their own. How wrong they were.I did not understand all that went on that morning but the concerned person waited for my teacher to arrive before he went on his way. My teacher and the other teachers in that building asked me all kinds of questions. They seemed to not know what to do. None of them informed my parents. They only instructed me to avoid the bystander because he was an addict. I was in grade 4 when I realized that what happened to me was very wrong. Ashamed and confused I never talked about it until I became an adult.I am supporting Save the Children and I wish to raise funds for the protection of children against any kind of abuse. Every child has the right to be protected.

Donations will go to Save the Children's hunger & malnutrition campaign.In the Philippines, the most dangerous part of a person's life is the day they're born.Not all Filipino children can make it to their 1st birthday. Why? Poor nutrition is among the culprits.The Philippines ranks 9th in the world for having the most stunted children – those too short for their age. In fact, 1 in 3 Filipino children is stunted.Stunting is caused by consistent poor nutrition, and its effects can be long-lasting. Stunting delays both body and brain development, hence it may affect children's school performance and future careers.In total, around 3.6 million (or nearly 30%) of Filipino children under five years are stunted. Stunted children are also 4 times more at risk of dying.Save the Children wants children to grow up happy and healthy.
