Hi! Thank you for clicking into this fundraising page, I am very glad that you are here! Just like myself, I am sure you must be itching to make sure you are making the best use of the HK$2000 handout. After some research, I have come across HandsOn Hong Kong ( https://www.handsonhongkong.org/), an organsation that aims to serve and empower local communities through volunteer work. While underpriviledged communities are going through an extremely hard time during Covid-19, this organisation and its volunteers have been deliver multiple relief projects that particularly help the underserved. Here are examples of their good work...Our COVID-19 relief ‘Emergency item list’: since the local outbreak, HandsOn Hong Kong has been in close contact with each of our 100+ under-resourced charity partners to understand their most critical needs. We compiled these and immediately published their required emergency items. By sharing these with the broader community, we have been able to direct tens of thousands of masks, hand sanitizers and alcohol wipes to these charities—as well as bulk deliveries of rice and food. Our COVID-19 relief ‘check-in phone calling’ program: This program connects volunteers with self-isolating elderly in need of emotional support, and has received considerable uptake. Our team is quickly now working to expand this program in collaboration with five of our elderly centre partners. Our COVID-19 relief ‘care package delivery’ program: This program brings necessity food items, masks, alcohol wipes and hand sanitizers directly to the doorsteps of low-income families and elderly, who are facing financial hardship and unable to safely access these themselves. Within two days of launching the first phase of this program on April 14th, nearly all spots for the next month were filled—with more than 150 volunteers mobilized. By the end of June, they will have made over 2,000 doorstep deliveries to support the city's most vulnerable. Now you are also supporting one of the expanded sessions of the delivery program. If these projects sound like something you would like to help financially support, please feel free to make a donation through this page, your donation will be transferred to their paypal directly. Alternatively you can also make a bank deposit:Account Name: HandsOn Hong Kong LimitedAccount Number: 848 245775 838Bank Name: HSBCThanks for reading the above, hope you have the best day today!!Peace out,Natalie

This year BATHK will be teaming up with HandsOn Hong Kong to help deliver supplies to the less fortunate to help them fight COVID-19. We understand that during this pandemic it is not wise to have too many people volunteering, therefore this fundraising page is also set up so that those who are unable to deliver the supplies can help by donating. We suggest to sponsor one of our volunteers by matching donations to their work.

The immigrant workers at a place where I used to work reached me out. Telling me due to Covid19 issue, since Malaysia Government announced Movement Control Order (MCO), it’s difficult for them get something to eat becuase mostly of them are daily paid. I asked if they were providing food by their bosses. They, they were giving food only once. They did noticed their bosses but no response from them. Now with no food supply and no money to buy food, they are trying to reach out for any help. With current pandemic, we do not how long is MCO will last. So, here I am.. I am seeking for any amount of donations so that I can buy food and pass it to them. There are 22 families need to feed.

Please join me this holiday season to support HandsOn Hong Kong and our community. Despite these challenging times, the needs in our community do not disappear.  In fact, Hong Kong’s current poverty rate is over 20% -- the highest it’s been in 9 years and our city has one of the largest gaps between the rich and the poor in the developed world.    HandsOn Hong Kong's commitment to addressing social needs in Hong Kong has not wavered and we continue to work to support those in need. Our volunteer programs address many issues impacting our city, including poverty alleviation, educating children, assisting the elderly, empowering people with disabilities, environmental conservation, and more. Donations are critical to the continued success of our work, helping us to run up to 200 volunteer programs each month as a free public service—at no cost to our NGO partners or volunteers. The HandsOn team supports more than 100 NGOs in Hong Kong with program development, volunteer recruitment and management, profiling and promotion, securing joint-program funding, guidance and general support. My family and I donated HK$80,000 this month to support HandsOn Hong Kong’s volunteer programs. My hope is that with your generosity, we can together raise an additional HK$20,000 before the end of December.
