Our purpose in creating this video is to create awareness for the society about child abuse. Child abuse is a very crucial and reckless act and this issue should be taken seriously. It gives huge impacts on the children as it can affect the growth as well as physical and mental health. That's why, Evee, Felice, and Harishni have decided to create a promotional video about stopping child abuse. Hopefully, by raising all the money can help the children to live a better life. Everybody deserves a 2nd chance of life. Your small acts of kindness mean so much to them. We represent the kids to say Thank You!

The Anonymous Angels is a team of 5 from Sunway College who has initiated a campaign to raise awareness and break the stigma around child sexual abuse. We are working alongside Suriana Welfare Society Malaysia, a non-profit organisation, who has been actively working to protect the rights of children that have been subject to abuse, abandonment and neglect since 2011.Due to dire circumstances resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, many Malaysians have lost their livelihood as businesses are being shut down. Losing their basic source of income has made these families hopeless as they have lost the means to feed their families. The team at Suriana is working hard to help the families residing at PPR Desa Mentari PJS 6, PPR Taman Beringin, Jinjang Utara, PPR Kampong Pandan, Sang Peng Flats and others.Majority funds raised from this campaign would be used to help Suriana acquire basic necessities such as rice, sugar, milk etc, which would be distributed to the families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.“The work of volunteers impacts on all our lives, even if we are not aware of it”. A donation as little as RM5 will contribute to helping us feed the families in need!

I was inspired by Global Cycling Network‘s 24-hr cycling challenge and wanted to see if I could even make it to 12-hours without going bananas. Believe it or not, the longest I have ever sat on an indoor bike is 80mins - I’ve never been a fan! So not only will this be a test of physical endurance but also a mental challenge. Never been a “fundraiser” type for my sporting pursuits but these aren’t normal times and frankly quite fed up with the rough month most Malaysians endured (backdoor gov + COVID). We have, within the community at Desa Mentari, Sunway, found many single mothers and mothers, whose husbands do not work and/or contribute to the household expenses for various reason such as sickly husbands, drunks and etc. These mothers work two or even three jobs just to make ends meet but are unable to keep their jobs as there is no one to take care of their children. Suriana Welfare Society introduced the Quilled Handcrafted 2020 Calendar which allows these single mothers to work from home to supplement their income. Apart from supplementing their income, this project seems to increase the respect given to these single mothers as the sole / partial bread winners.

We have since introduced the Quilled Calendar Project which allows these single mothers to work from home and take care of their children at the same time.
