My Story
We
have, within the community at Desa Mentari, Sunway, found many single mothers and mothers, whose husbands do not work
and/or contribute to the household expenses for various reason such as sickly
husbands, drunks and etc. These mothers work two or even three jobs just to
make ends meet but are unable to keep their jobs as there is no one to take care of their children.
Suriana Welfare Society introduced the Quilled Handcrafted 2020 Calendar which allows these single mothers to work from home to supplement their income. Apart from supplementing their income, this project seems to increase the respect given to these single mothers as the sole / partial bread winners.
