Cancer's a bitch. My maternal grandfather survived the Japanese Occupation only to be killed by cancer, as a result of which, I've never known the man. Not even a photograph to remember him by. Point is, let's give cancer a good run for its money, so to speak, by funding its victims generously. With cold hard cash.

Hello everyone! Let me introduce Muhin from Pulau Banggi, Kudat, Sabah a Colorectal Cancer Survivor. He is joining me for Klimb Kinabalu this year; 24 - 27 August.His cancer journey is rough. To get to Hospital Likas, Muhin takes a two hour ferry ride from Pulau Banggi where he lives to Kudat and thereafter endures another 3 hours on land to Hospital Likas. Having had a rough day ourselves, we tend to utter ‘we are sick and tired’ but no matter, however sick and tired Muhin gets, he still continues with his treatment. At the ward, he speaks with other cancer patients to keep their spirits high. He gives emotional support and cheers them up. 48 years old Muhin is currently unemployed. He receives a monthly financial assistance from MAKNA. He is a very strong individual. He heard from my Volunteer Unit colleague about MAKNA’s annual Kinabalu climb and became very keen to be involved in it. He truly believes that his act will motivate others’ surviving cancer that nothing is impossible to overcome. To all reading my story here, though Muhin is fighting with cancer, he is never ever tired of facing the coming days with hope. I suppose this is what gets me going at work i.e. the heroes braving cancer - I am well and able and I shall help; and why not. Today, it is because of you, Muhin gets access to treatment. Salam and Hi AllMy son, Rizq and I are excited to face the challenge of climbing Mount Kinabalu in support of Fight Against Cancer fundraising event in late August 2018. There are two reasons why we have decided to join the climb. Firstly, is to make a difference. Two years ago, I lost my close childhood friend to colon cancer and saw how much pain she had suffered battling the cancer. I believed some of you might have gone through the same with your loved ones along the way. Secondly is teach the younger generation, especially Rizq the importance of giving back selflessly to the society through first-hand experience.So, please show us your love and support, and let’s make a difference together by donating sincerely to this sentimental cause. I dont have alots thing to do to society.. to contribute.. but i hope little thing can make different. I hope all the cancer patients always strong, move forward and most important Not Give Up. Always believe that God giving the test cause God know that we can take it.. strong.. and most important.. we are different among others. Stay positive and stay strong. We fight until the end.

"MIND OVER MATTER"That was my mantra throughout my cancer journey. I'm a cervical cancer stage 2b survivor. Cancer can be devastating but the human mind has an incredible power to withstand it. Your mind will quit a thousand times before your body will... Put your heart, mind and soul even into your smallest acts and believe me, you will be amazed with yourself. It was not an easy journey for me as a single mum with 2 teenage kids. I walked out of this like a mortal warrior simply because of my will to survive was far greater than to die of fear. I have come this far and I'm not gonna stop! I'm Just a Woman with the will to survive. Now, it is time to give back. Join me!!!! Let's raise some fund and help more people to make peace with Cancer! For those who know us better as "the good boyfriend who didn't leave his stage 3 - cancer girlfriend even though they were just 6 months in the relationship when she was first diagnosed" or "how sweet is the boyfriend to shave his head bald just to make sure the girlfriend don't feel left out (looking weird than normal)... well thats us! The Yin (aka Jennifer) and Yang (aka Young).It has been 3 years since the diagnosis... (How wonderful!) We're doing better than before.. From time to time, we will run campaigns to raise awareness on Cancer in both Singapore & Malaysia. On top of that, we also offer supports to patients and caregivers via texts, social medias and house visits. We both understand how important it is to educate and support the community with the right help and mindset. And also understand how they usually suffer from depression and discriminations. Which is why despite our hectic schedules, we will make time for the community together with our #spreadlovecreatehope crews to make this world a better place to live. Even if it means baby steps. It can definitely take you a long way overtime.This time round, we'd decided to take up a totally different challenge by hiking Mount Kinabalu, (organised by MAKNA) just to raise fund for Cancer!We believe with all your supports and contributions, it will make a huge impact on all of us in the Cancer Community.If you think you're inspired with our story..If you think you're inspired with Jennifer's courage...If you think every Cancer patients deserved a second chance in life...If you think its worth your donations to support us, please click on this link to support our cause.
