Other Fundraiser

We would really appreciate it if you could donate to our partnering charity - Make-A-Wish Foundation - to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses in Singapore!

My Story

Hi everyone! We are Team Dreamcatcher, consisting of Charlene, Haiping, Vanetta and Nicole from Dunman High School, participating in the Citi-YMCA Youth for Causes 2016. Our project involves partnership with Make-A-Wish Foundation, with the aim of raising funds and awareness for children with life-threatening illnesses in Singapore. The wishes that we fulfil are not dying wishes, but life-affirming because sometimes when the children feel better, they get better.

It is an indisputable fact that as human beings, we all have desires. We live with the hopes that one day these desires of ours may be fulfilled. When that day finally comes, it would be a significant event in our lives and the memories made will be cherished dearly.

Make-A-Wish Foundation has the ability to grant a child’s wish, sending a message to him that people care about him, his interests and his happiness. Our team believes that showering a child with love can make him more optimistic as this gives him the strength and hope required to fight his life-endangering illness.

Thus, we hope that you will donate some money to show your support for our cause and help make more magical wishes come true!

Here is an example of a wish granted by Make-A-Wish Foundation:

Dennis is a 15-year-old boy who was involved in a high-speed accident. It caused him severe brain injury, leaving him bed-bound and requiring full assistance for daily living. It has been seven months since rehabilitation and Dennis developed a liking for beef curry ever since he could eat independently. He experienced what it was like cooking for his loved ones where he learnt to make beef rendang and curry.

He also hosted a delicious food party at the Equinox Private Dining Room at the Fairmont Hotel which had an amazing views of the city skyline. It was indeed an incredible experience for Dennis to be in a large professional kitchen, stocked full of woks!

Your donations will help to grant the wishes of these children and bring them joy. Help grant a wish and donate today. Thank you!

Note: Donations to Make-A-Wish qualify for Singapore income tax rebate (currently at 250%)
