Introduction

ProjectEd, previously known as Knowledge Is Free Foundation, is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) which strives to tackle education inequality in Malaysia by empowering underprivileged students to pursue their tertiary education dreams.

Humbly started off as a non-profit social project, we are composed of a group of university students who aspire to contribute back to the community. We identified two primary causes of the immense gap in higher education: financial constraints and lack of exposure and opportunity to soft-skill development.

We are humbled to be pioneering the KIF Scholarship, the only student-led scholarship fund in Malaysia which provides scholarships for underprivileged students to pursue their tertiary education in all local public institutions. To date, we have supported 17 talented students through our scholarships to realise their tertiary education dreams. Keeping the sustainability of our scholarship initiative in mind, we pivoted our scholarship into a student tertiary education loan, now known as Tabung KIF.

We strongly believe that the opportunity to attain tertiary education should not be hindered by the students’ background. We empower the students to achieve their fullest potentials through our Scholar’s Development Programme, which aims to fill in the soft-skills development gap that is not taught in university lectures. We aspire to groom the next generation of leaders with the right knowledge and learning opportunities with our Programme

In short, we live and run two things: provide financial assistance and provide soft-skills development programmes to tertiary education scholars.
