Animal Rights Center aims for peaceful coexistence with animals, wiping out animal experiments, unethical killing of animals, cruelty toward animals and abandonment of animals. Animal Rights Center is a Specified Non-profit Organization working for protecting animal rights and dignity, for animals to be just the way they are without any unethical treatment. Our activities started in1987 with some members who desired to resolve various problems on animal rights, centering around Tokyo and Kanagawa. Mainly, we are working to change the present state of animals dominated by human beings, for example, the state of companion animals (pets) of dogs and cats etc., animals used on experiments for our medical treatment and food, the condition of stock raising animals for our foods, animals killed taken their fur or leather for our clothes, working animals for human amusements at zoos and aquariums. To reach the goal of Animal Rights Center, current life styles of human beings have to be changed to more considerate ones for animals. With this view, we have to convey the present conditions of animals, ask people to think, and reform people’s consciousness. We may have to change the social structure. Then, animals will be able to live their dignified lives. However, for human beings, it is only a little concession to animals. Human living does not degenerate much by this, nor is its quality lowered. With courage and faith, for the animal dignity, we continue sending our proposals to the society.
