My Story
Hello!
After spending two months with this organization, we are working to raise money for the Malaysian Social Research Institute (MSRI). MSRI is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our team at MSRI works to carry out humanitarian services for disadvantaged and marginalized communities. You can click on the main fundraising page to read more about our services, but we run three main programs: formal education for refugee students, an awareness and education program for violence against women and children, and a food aid program that distributes to families in the community.
We have spent the last few months getting to know the students, teaching, and helping out with the many dimensions required for running a nonprofit. We have been met with kindness and compassion every step of the way. To give back, we are hoping to raise funds for MSRI’s Sahabat School for refugees. With funds, we want to invest in new backpacks for the students and cover the fees for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exam for our older students finishing secondary school.
New school backpack - 100 MYR (30 CAD or 20 USD)
IGCSE Exam - 2500 MYR (715 CAD or 540 USD)
