Team

From now till the end of November, we (Sean and Sebastian) pledge that for every goal scored by our football teams, we will convert it to at least 1 kg of trash picked up and disposed properly. 1 goal = 1 kg trash! We will also be fundraising for the Free Tree Society, a local charity that greens our Earth and spreads the environmental message by giving away trees for free to be replanted. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.

My Story

We, Sean Zecha Simmons (16 yrs), and Sebastian (14 yrs) both love football and we play for BISP Cruziero Phuket in different age groups. We are are creating a challenge - #Goals4Trash, where we pledge to clean up the environment by picking trash for every goal scored by our teams (1 goal=1kg trash). We are also fundraising for The Free Tree Society so that they can give away more trees to be replanted and spread the message of environmental stewardship. AND we are doing this to support #GivingTuesday, celebrating generosity where we live and around the world!

Personally, I greatly dislike the harm that is brought upon our planet, especially when it comes to hurting the environment surrounding us. Immense amount of litter are casually chucked onto the ground every year subsequently allowing the waste to build up into large landfills and destroy multiple habitats for different animals.

Although trash consists of many different materials, the primary material involved in the most destruction of our planet are plastics. These plastics end up into our aquatic ecosystems and pollute them. Sea creatures such as turtle, jellyfish and lots of other fish can get trapped inside different variations of plastic which can hinder their growth and can restrict their breathing, resulting in death. Plastics are also non biodegradable and therefore take thousands of years to fully degrade and throughout this time plastics can morph into micro-plastics which can be ingested by not only aquatic species, but also us human through the food chain.

Because of these problems that trash causes to our environment, I want to try to play my part in protecting our planet and ensure people are aware about this charity I am supporting as trees are very special for us as they remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, a greenhouse gas contributing to global warming, and in return produces a very useful gas named oxygen. My brother and I are just trying to help out to ensure we can try live a pollution free future.

Thank you for supporting us!
