My Story
I'm Adani Bakhtiar, an events management graduate presently working with an event platform in Kuala Lumpur.
Three years ago, I had the opportunity to volunteer with the Small Changes' Mini Seed of Deeds camp in Klang. It was one of my best volunteering experience, having made many new friends some of whom I still do keep in touch. As cliché as it sounds and perhaps you've heard it a thousand times, this kind of opportunity teaches and gives perspective on how accessibility affects educational opportunities for children. But most of all, it grounded me. So I am here again to do my part and contribute, especially in the tough times we're all going through today with the pandemic and the Movement Control Order (MCO) in place during the fasting month.
For the last 6 months, I’ve been actively attending yoga classes as part of my fitness goals. Today, I've found passion to commit and delve deeper into learning about this practice. Yoga has taught me to understand deeply on how our body and mind works; for our physical and mental well being. (Shout out the instructors from our local yoga studios!). Through this brief personal journey, I've come to realise that sometimes, all we need is a little affirmation to feel grounded or lifted - and that is where the gratitude practice comes in.
