On 9 November, I will participate in the Great Eastern Women half marathon run in Singapore. Ever since I started running, I have always wanted to do a half marathon. This is the first time I’m running in Singapore and I’m pledging it to a good cause. To know more about my training progress, please follow my Facebook account!
When I first started training for this run, I will constantly think of others who do not have the blessed opportunity to accomplish their own dreams or wishes- i.e. people who are suffering from medical conditions, poverty etc.
Two years ago, I lost Monserat, my 10 year old niece, from a medical condition. She would never be able to accomplish all her dreams. This painful revelation gave me an unnerving thought- I can help make other’s wishes come true! So, I decided to fundraise for Make- A- Wish Foundation® Singapore.
From this run, I hope to raise at least SGD $1,000 to contribute to a child’s wish. Make- A- Wish Foundation® Singapore grants the one true wish of children between 3 to 18 years old with life-threatening medical conditions. A wish can give countless memories, joy, hope and strength to the child.
