Every child deserves the opportunity to play. But toys and opportunities to do so are not always available in our region of Southeast Asia. Artsolute therefore began to gather young and traditional artists from ASEAN to build such possibilities through handmade puppets. With the right education and guidance, every child can use the things around them to create and express themselves to others, in schools, their own homes, or wherever they find themselves. This October, we make our way to Vietnam's Lomonosov School to bring joy to 3,000 children and teach their best 40 how to perform and run workshops of their own. Make their play today!
Artsolute launched the ASEAN Puppet Exchange project to promote peace and harmony in Southeast Asia, encouraging the collaboration of artists to provide for the needs of children, youth, and the vulnerable.
Your support helps cover the costs of art materials, transport for the children, and some food for students of Lomonosov School to learn how to make puppets and passages! We aim to raise $5,000 this month and the next so Vietnam's children have a chance to make a difference in their lives by sharing their thoughts, feelings, and tales. This workshop will also focus on girls' education, so they may learn how to protect and express themselves. I believe art is a fundamental need of our society and of us as individuals. I am very happy to contribute to this meaningful project to keep alive puppetry in ASEAN, an art form I love and that is deeply connected to the traditions of this amazing part of the world where I live.
