InspiringHK Sports Foundation is one of our long-term volunteering partners with a vision of developing better youths through sports. It aims at promoting social mobility, gender equality, social inclusion and healthy lifestyles through sports. It mainly supports underprivileged youths with financial difficulties. The donation will be used to fund one league from WELL DUNK, a public housing basketball programme.

We are a group of 13 ethnic minority girls who have been learning swimming for four months with IHKSports. We would like to challenge ourselves 15m freestyle with board in one month! Our culture and religion restrain us from swimming in a public swimming pool. We have never received any proper swimming training until we met IHKSports. The programme gives us the opportunity to receive professional training through providing us with long sleeve swimming suits and a private pool in the Shrewsbury International School Hong Kong with only female coaches. I am doing a triathlon fundraiser to support InspiringHK Sports Foundation, a Hong Kong based charity that I have been helping for 3 years as the Communications Manager. The charity helps disadvantaged youth by providing them with 2-year and free-of-charge sports programmes. Its mission is to instil sportsmanship qualities such as perseverance and teamwork amongst them, so that they are better equipped to take on challenges and improve social mobility. Started in 2012 it has so far:Benefited more than 500 disadvantaged students in sports that are out of their reach such as golf and fencingCreated life changing stories that saw youth reaching out to their dreams, such as competing internationally and entering universityHelped starting a tennis class for 40 students in the Bungoma region in Kenya, which is 10 hours drive from NairobiThe HKD 10,000 (roughly 1,000 GBP) will help continue the positive impact that InspiringHK has made on disadvantaged youth.
