We, the MBA students from the University of Malaya, are undertaking a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) project to collect donations for a worthy cause. Our campaign aims to support the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Selangor, an organization dedicated to caring for and protecting animals in need.Problem Statement: The region of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur faces a significant challenge with a large volume of stray animals. To mitigate this issue, the municipal councils resort to a catch-and-kill approach, which is not a sustainable solution. SPCA Selangor plays a crucial role by providing shelter and treatment services to these strays. However, the organization faces several obstacles due to limited funding, resources, and manpower.Challenges Faced:Stray Overpopulation: The high number of strays in the area necessitates effective control measures to ensure their well-being and reduce their population.Financial Constraints: SPCA Selangor heavily relies on NGOs for support, as funding from external sources is limited.Inadequate Facilities: The shelters struggle to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for the animals due to limited resources.Public Awareness: There is a need to raise awareness about the existence of these shelters and educate the public about the importance of contributing to their cause.Promoting Adoption: Encouraging the adoption of animals instead of purchasing them from breeders is essential to combat the stray population and cultivate a culture of compassion and responsibility. Objectives of the Campaign:Stray Free Selangor Initiative: Support SPCA Selangor's efforts in the Stray Free Selangor initiative, aimed at reducing the stray population and ensuring their well-being.Caring and Compassionate Communities: Promote the Caring and Compassionate Communities program by fostering a sense of responsibility towards animal welfare.Increase Pet Adoption Rates: Encourage the public to adopt animals from shelters, thus providing them with loving homes and helping to alleviate the burden on the shelters.Improve Public Perception: Enhance public knowledge and change perceptions about animal shelters, highlighting their importance in providing care and protection to stray animals.By donating to our campaign, you can contribute to the betterment of SPCA Selangor and make a significant impact on the lives of these vulnerable animals. Together, let's create a more compassionate society and ensure a brighter future for our furry friends. We are a group of students from INTI International College Subang. We decided to work with The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA Selangor) to help raise awareness and funds to help out a bunch of adorable animals who are in need of help. Among all the charitable causes of interest, we decided to help out these poor creatures as we ourselves are pet lovers. With your financial contribution, we believe we can all be part of a bigger cause and help these animals live more peacefully.

Dear friends,Several months ago, I had the bright idea to apply for the Spartan Ultra in Iceland this December. I thought I wouldn't get in, but figured it was worth a shot.I got in and then things got real.In 4 weeks, me and 999 others will take on a 24-hour obstacle race through Iceland's snow, wind, fog, darkness, hills, thermal lakes (what is a thermal lake ?), barbed wire, and maybe some stray Vikings. Why ?I have always believed that human beings are not just human and that there comes a point, which if you can push past, you open yourself to possibilities that you never thought existed. I want to know who and what I really am by taking my mind and body to a place where it has never been - and more importantly, to be fine in this place.I also thought it would be a good opportunity to raise money for a cause very close to my heart. In the hours of running, CrossFit, pull ups & burpees, in my quest to touch the divine, my 3 cats have consistently brought me crashing back down to earth. From demanding food at 4am to always finding a way to interrupt a stretching routine to eating my laces - they have been strangely supportive, somewhat quizzical, but always exceedingly loving. The SPCA Selangor (Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in Malaysia does amazing work to look after stray, mistreated, neglected, abandoned, and injured animals through inspectorate, education, spaying & neutering, and adoption programs. Their wish list includes seemingly mundane items like pet toys, cat scratching posts and old newspapers (seriously) - but, for me, putting a price on giving an animal a second shot at life is impossible. It is quite simple: more funds = longer adoption windows = less euthanasia. If I can help give back a fraction of what animals have given me over my life, it would be incredibly meaningful. Any contribution from you is received with gratitude.Thank you for the support and I look forward to the literal (and metaphorical) other side of this.Best,Satish
