Hello! I will be taking part in the Hong Kong Dog Rescue Peak to Fong 2013 on 17 November. I am aiming to raise money for the Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR). The walk will be a grueling 8km, mostly downhill, from the highest Peak in Hong Kong to almost-sea-level LKF! It will not be an easy walk, and I will have to constantly struggle with the crowds of dogs and humans at a pace of 4km/hr. Love, Wys From HKDR's information leaflet: Many of the dogs that come to HKDR have been family pets that have been abandoned on the street or surrendered to either AFCD (government) kennels or directly to us. Their only crime is that they are old or sick, or their owners have simply lost interest. Many are young puppies that are the result of irresponsible owners or are born to abandoned or stray dogs. HKDR makes regular visits to AFCD government kennels to select the lucky few who stand the best chance of being re-homed. The rest are killed after just 4 days. Up to 20,000 dogs and puppies are destroyed every year in Hong Kong. To be able to continue saving as many dogs and puppies as possible, we need your help.

Kiko was bought from a pet store when I have absolutely no knowledge about what's happening inside a puppy mill. He's very sick after I bought him and we fought very hard tgt in order to get him back to be a healthy little guy. I am here to ask your help to HKDR for a donation. This non profit organisation have been taking care alot of homeless dogs as possible from inevitable death and helps promoting the adoption of dogs. Why: My name is Grenache and I'm still alive because of HKDR. Now, I wanna raise fund for this wonderful organization so more doggies can be saved. What to do: On Nov 17, all "Peak-to-Fong" participants will walk with their humans from Peak to Lan Kwai Fong. As I'm old and blind, I probably can only start half way. And yet, you can still support me by donating to Hong Kong Dog Rescue. Just press "DONATE" button and that's it! Safe & Fast. But if you still feel uncomfortable for donating online, contact my Human. All donations go to HKDR. My late sis Dolly was one of the top 10 fundraisers at 2012 P2F. Please convince me that “Look doesn’t matter” by supporting me. I am so worried cos I have raised $0 so far. I may need to go to Korea for plastic surgery if still $0 next week. HELP! Me and HKDR: I am a 12 years-old blind Chinese Crested dog. Many people don't know this breed and think I have skin disease. And when they are told about "the World's Ugliest Dog" contest, most said "that's you!". I only have hair on my paws, tail and head. Some people are afraid of me because of my furless skin :P Given my conditions, I'm really not that easy to home. Many shelters may give the space to my fluffy or younger counterparts. And yet, HKDR took me in even though I might stay there for a while and spend $$$ on vet bill. I'm so thankful to Sally who not only accepted me into HKDR family but also posted my pic and mentioned in her blog that "this baldie deserves love and comfort in her remaining years". (My human was so touched even though she isn't bald). Then that's it. I was adopted by my Humans and live happily now. Not many dogs are as lucky as me. It takes a lot of money to feed and care for the dogs, not to mention the huge vet bill. All donations go to HKDR to help other dogs. Hello everyone, Toffee and Baileys (my dogs) will participate the Peak to Fong 2013 this year on Sunday 17 Nov 2013 to raise money for Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) to save many dogs and puppies as possible from inevitable death at the Government's AFCD centres by taking them out and finding them new homes. To date HKDR has found new homes for around 7,000 lucky dogs and puppies, which is a lot of lives saved but still a small percentage of the total number needing help. HKDR's aim is to increase the number of dogs saved while decreasing the number of dogs abandoned, or simply unwanted. Little Toffee and Baileys decided to do something and help their furry friends and they will try their best to walk all the way from the PEAK to LAN KWAI FONG in Central. I will be taking part in Hong Kong Dog Rescue Peak to Fong 2013, sponsored by Disney in 17/11/2013 and aiming to raise money for Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR). I have been volunteering for this organization for a while and found it truly cares about the welfare of the dogs. It is not subsidized by the government but it needs quite alot of money to buy food for dogs and cover the medical costs etc. -- one thing I like about HKDR is that they don't perform euthanasia on dogs even when they are not adopted. They don't kill the dogs because they are sick or disabled. Instead, they try to find cure them and match them with suitable families. Hence, their vet care costs are particularly high.
