Me and HKDR: I am a 12 years-old blind Chinese Crested dog. Many people don't know this breed and think I have skin disease. And when they are told about "the World's Ugliest Dog" contest, most said "that's you!". I only have hair on my paws, tail and head. Some people are afraid of me because of my furless skin :P Given my conditions, I'm really not that easy to home. Many shelters may give the space to my fluffy or younger counterparts. And yet, HKDR took me in even though I might stay there for a while and spend $$$ on vet bill. I'm so thankful to Sally who not only accepted me into HKDR family but also posted my pic and mentioned in her blog that "this baldie deserves love and comfort in her remaining years". (My human was so touched even though she isn't bald). Then that's it. I was adopted by my Humans and live happily now. Not many dogs are as lucky as me. It takes a lot of money to feed and care for the dogs, not to mention the huge vet bill. All donations go to HKDR to help other dogs.
