Hi guys! I need your help! I'm raising money for water filters and then I'm going to visit Cambodia in January to install these filters for poor rural families! Over 780 Million people do not have access to clean water. This makes them sick. Really sick! So sick that it kills them. In fact, water borne diseases kill more people every year than all forms of violence -including war! It's crazy! So I've decided to do something about it. I recently found out about Water&Toilets (WNT) and decided to join them in raising money for water filters in Cambodia. WNT is a non profit that has been raising awareness and money to tackle the water crisis. They've already reached 6,000 people this year and now they're raising money to help more people in Cambodia. The really cool bit about this fundraiser is the fact that after I raise money for the filters I'll actually get a chance to visit Cambodia with WNT in January to actually get my hands dirty building the filters and I'll also get to meet with the families that the money I raised. It's going to be an amazing experience and I can't wait to go. But before I make my trip I need to raise money for the filters. My target is USD 500! That'll be enough to build 8 filters which means I'll get to help 8 families get a life time supply of clean water!! Please do me a favor and help me reach my fundraising target. Every little helps. Remember the donations are in USD so don't forget to convert it to your local currencies before you make the donation. It's really cool because WNT has been very transparent about how the donations will be used and I'll get to show you proof when I visit Cambodia in January. Each filter cost USD 62.50. 80% or USD 50 goes directly towards material to build the filters. That includes concrete, river sand, gravel and all other cost incurred to build the actual filter. 10% or USD 6.25 goes towards credit card fees and online transaction cost and another 10% goes towards WNT to help them cover some of the basic costs they incur in fundraising. Hi guys! I need your help! I’ve joined this really amazing non-profit organization called WNT and they are currently trying to raise funds for water filters in Cambodia. They've already reached 6,000 people this year and now they're raising money to help more people in Cambodia. Millions people do not have access to clean filtered water and thus causing major disease outbreaks which in turn leads to an increase number of death toll in the country. So, I've trying to do as little as I can about it. The plan is to raise USD 500, which will be sufficient to help install 8 water filters in 8 different homes, thus helping 8 different families! It's going to be exciting and I can't wait to see them smile. Hey all! Recently I came to know about WNT (waterandtoilets) and decided to join them to raise money for water filters in Cambodia. For those who haven’t heard about them, WNT is a non-profit that has been ardently raising awareness and money to eradicate water crisis. This year alone they’ve reached 6, 000 people and come January they’ll be helping the people of Cambodia. So here’s a gist what’s going to happen. You amazing people I so dearly call my friends and family will help me raise funds. These funds will go to an NGO in Cambodia called Water For Cambodia (WFC). WFC will then use it to build and install water filters for rural families in Cambodia. Don’t worry, they know their stuff because to-date they’ve installed 12,000 filters. But this amount is equivalent to a drop of water in a vast lake as there are 4.5 million families in rural Cambodia that don’t have access to clean water. So help me help them! Personally the best part of this fundraiser is that once it’s complete, come January yours truly will be making a trip to Cambodia with WNT to meet the families I’m raising funds for and help build the filters too! But I’m getting ahead of myself; first up I need to raise USD 500 which is enough to build 8 filters for 8 families hence giving them a lifetime supply of clean water! While many of us are guilty of leaving the tap on while brushing our teeth, or taking 30-minute long showers, did you know that approximately 4.5 million families in rural Cambodia do not have access to clean water? The lack of such basic necessity affects the lives of many, including children, and is one of the main causes of poor health which even leads to death. So here I am, trying to do what little I can to help raise money to build water filters for families in rural Cambodia. This is actually a group fundraising effort organised by Water and Toilets (WNT), a non-profit which has been raising awareness and money to tackle water crisis in many parts of the world. To date, WNT has managed to help over 6,000 people in countries such as Sri Lanka and Kenya. Back to Project H2O. The plan is to raise a minimum of USD500, which will be sufficient to build and install 8 water filters. This translates into a lifetime supply of clean water for 8 families! The proceeds will be donated to an NGO in Cambodia called Water For Cambodia (WFC) for them to build and install these water filters for those in need. In conjunction with this fundraiser, I will be making a trip to Cambodia in January, with WNT, where I will get my hands dirty building the filters and also meet with the families which we will be helping.
