Personal Challenge

All Children deserve the right to an education, help me to make their dreams come true.

My Story

I'm going to run 42 KM and raise funds for YCAB Foundations Learning Houses My hope is only one, to help in bringing more school dropouts back to school.Everyone can spread the goodness anywhere, anytime and through any means. That's what I believe. This year, although not easy, I challenged myself to run as far as 42 KM in Jakarta Marathon in order to raise funds for the students of YCAB Foundations Learning Houses. Why? Every time I visit a YCAB Learning House and interact with the young kids, I see the hope in their eyes. Many who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and had to drop out of school because of their family economy. However, since getting the chance to go back to school, it opened a million hopes and opportunities. That's what I want to give through this charity run. This year, I am determined to implement the idea. My hope is that the children can learn to have a sense of pride in themselves. Each of them has the potential, talent and incredible insight. All they need is an opportunity. One thing that overwhelmed me was when one of the children told me, with eyes that sparkled, and a face full of pride said, "I am now going to school, and later on, I want to be a policewoman!" I wanted to make a change and I'm sure you do too. The good news, you can join in to make the change through the action of my run. Not everyone can run a marathon, but everyone can donate and distribute goodness. With the support of you all, we could bring more poor children back to school. Let's together realize their dreams.  Stevens Onsoe.
