Name and Set Free a Terrapin! Join our mission to return these amazing creatures to the wild, donate now and be part of their journey!
My Story
Join us, a team of veterinary students volunteering at the Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia (TCS), in our mission to give terrapins a fresh start in their natural habitat. Our mission is simple yet profound: to give them a name, provide the best possible care, and release them back into their natural habitat where they truly belong.
When you participate in our adoption program, you play a crucial role in the journey of these terrapins. Your donation allows you to name a terrapin, symbolizing your connection to its journey from rescue to release. This naming process not only personalizes your contribution but also creates a meaningful bond with the terrapin you choose to support.
We ensure each terrapin receives the best possible treatment. This includes medical care, rehabilitation, and proper nutrition to prepare them for their eventual return to the wild. Your support directly funds these efforts, making a huge difference in the lives of these animals.
The completion of this journey is the release of the terrapins back into their natural habitat on our annual Terrapin Release Day. This special event takes place every year on the first Saturday of October. This year, it will be held on October 5th, 2024, in Kampung Pasir Gajah, Kemaman, Terengganu. The day will be celebrated with a carnival, and everyone is welcome to join in the activities. This moment represents the ultimate goal of our efforts: to see these resilient creatures thrive once again in the wild. Your generosity enables us to continue our conservation work, ensuring that every terrapin we rescue has the opportunity to live freely and contribute to their ecosystem.
Your donation not only supports the direct care of these terrapins but also contributes to the broader mission of the Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia. Every ringgit helps us expand our conservation programs, engage in research to better understand terrapin behaviour and ecology, and conduct community outreach and education programs.
