Mariam is supposed to be a normal 15 years old girl. She was living normally with her family in a city call Aswan, Egypt. Unfortunately, at puberty the girl couldn't get her period. After a medical check up, she was diagnosed with Androgen insensitivity syndrome (previously known as Testicular feminization syndrome).

This is a condition that affects sexual development before birth and during puberty. People with this condition are genetically male, with one X chromosome and one Y chromosome in each cell. They mostly female external sex characteristics or signs of both male and female sexual development. Because their bodies are unable to respond to certain male sex hormones (called androgens)
