I am a social worker and a fundraiser for the cause of poor Filipino children. In the line of duty, I came across Jacquelyn. We got along very well. She became like an older sister at work; she became my Ate Jaq.
I witnessed Ate Jaq's journey to becoming a mother. She waited for about three years to get pregnant because of polycystic ovary syndrome; but not until April 2019 when she and her husband found out she was 7 or 8 weeks pregnant (to a cute little boy named Elyon)!
During her pregnancy, Ate Jaq felt a lump in her right breast. After seeking medical advice, she took it as part of the journey she waited and prayed for for so long. Fast forward to a week after Elyon got born into this world, the lump became harder; and so Ate Jaq and her obstetrician-gynecologist figured it is time to look further into it.
Ate Jaq got diagnosed with a stage 3 breast cancer after a series of tests. Heading into Christmas of 2019 with baby Elyon, it "progressed" into stage 4 as the cancer cells metastasized to her bones (ribs and spine), lungs and liver.
I appeal to all of you to help me raise PhP 600,000 for her Trastuzumab therapy at Philippine General Hospital. This 18-cycle treatment for every 3 weeks has already started yesterday, January 21. Each 3-week period costs PhP 32,250.
The life my Ate Jaq shared with others to help raise funds for poor Filipino children is a life worth giving back to. It is a life of hope. As I write this very sentence, I hold back my tears, wishing to help turn that hope into a bigger one -- so that Ate Jaq could continue and become an even bigger blessing. Not to mention, to become someone she struggled for so long to be: a mother to baby Elyon.
May you be blessed ten fold for all the blessings your share ❤
Keep fighting. Never lose hope. God is with you.

O God, who willed that our infirmities be borne by your Only Begotten Son to show the value of human suffering, listen in kindness to our prayers for our brothers and sisters who are sick; grant that all who are oppressed by pain, distress or other afflictions may know that they are chosen among those proclaimed blessed and are united to Christ in his suffering for the salvation of the world. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

I myself was a breast cancer survivor and was diagnosed 2 times.. 2014 was my first diagnosis and my son was just 18 months old back then. It was tough, my faith gets stronger. Praise God for the grace of healing. 2017, an unfortunate diagnosis of reoccurrence. I gave it all to God. I was scared and thought it would be the end but God is merciful. I had to endure the pain again, lymph nodes dissection, with 8 cycles of chemo, 64 rounds of radiation.. That was nothing because God was with me the entire time! 1 year of pain and suffering, but trust God with all your heart and lean not own to your own understanding, in every way submit to Him and he will make your path straight. I am now fully healed, Praise God for His mercy and grace! Have strong faith, He can move mountains. Trust in Him and only with Him. I pray for your complete healing, in Jesus name! Amen.
