The Hot Meals for ALL project, started by Aland Yong and his wife Sunee Koyoma in Phuket Thailand was out of their commitment to give back to their local community. When covid-19 hit the tourism-dependent economy of Phuket, many local families,  migrant Burmese workers primarily in construction, lost their jobs. Since March 2020, Aland and his wife started preparing 60 hot meals daily to distribute to the local community, increasing their food distribution numbers up to 100 meals per day currently. Many government initiatives to feed the poor and the economically hit have stopped since end 2020, but Aland and Sunee have kept on relentlessly. Their ability to increase their food distribution is dependent on your kind donations. Along with packing 100 meals a day, significant single use plastic waste is generated. All foods currently are packed into throwaday bags. Aland and Sunee would like to move to eco-friendly paper packaging or reusable containers, however such packaging costs 4x more than single use plastic. We need to raise money to help us to not only deliver delicious healthy meals, but also help preserve the environment and beautiful beaches of Phuket.

Goals of the Fundraise:
- Increase daily hot meals from 100 to 150 per day (50% increase)
- Upgrade to eco-friendly packaging
- Finance hot meals until 31 Dec 2020

Use of Funds:
- Food cost: 65%
- Packaging: 10%
- Utilities, Rent, Gas: 20%
- Misc: 5%

Phuket is an entirely tourism-dependent economy. Many of us have enjoyed a wonderful holiday to the beautiful island of Phuket, depending on its many local taxi drivers, hotel wait staff, restaurant operators and tour boat operators to allow us an enjoyable and well priced vacation. Today, these folk are out of work and there is no end in sight. For many, not having proper cooking premises or a fully stocked kitchen - making a hot meal is a challenge. Many have told us that the hot meal received may be their only meal of the day. COVID-19 is a global disease, but the poor and the underclass have suffered the most. Please help in whatever small way we can!
