North South Initiative is a human rights NGO that looks into the protection of migrant's rights and welfare in Malaysia. This includes the rights and welfare of all peoples on the move- migrant workers, refugees, asylum seekers, undocumented migrants, and others. We work to ensure they are not abused/cheated by employers, labour agents and also various authorities who try to victimize them via extortion and abuses via unlawful arrest, detention and deportation. The work we do includes charity to those in need for livelihood & medical needs, labour cases, legal representation, industrial investigations and other forms of access to justice. We have a great team of experienced and competent activists who have helped migrants and other communities on the margins over the past 10 years.
