Matthew Hunt-Brown for Gavin Aspinwall

This campaign is to support much loved friend, colleague and son Gavin Aspinwall from Wigan.

Gavin currently lives in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and teaches Science to children at an International School.

Recently, Gavin attended a routine check up at a local hospital to talk to doctors about a recurring headache he had been having. A scan of Gavin's head revealed that he had a large, aggressive tumor growing in the centre of his brain, which would require major surgery. The Neurosurgeon placed Gavin in the top priority band/category for an operation, to attempt to remove the tumor as soon as possible.

Gavin thankfully came through the operation and is recovering in hospital, soon to move in with friends to further support him with his recovery.

Although Gavin's medical insurance has covered the initial cost of the surgery, it does not cover many of the expenses that Gavin now faces on his road to recovery as he continues to battle to remove the rest of the tumor from his brain.

Further costs include:
- Recovery support and Physiotherapy
- Radiation and Chemotherapy Treatment
- Further Hospital Visits/admissions including consultation costs
- Recovery Scan fees
- Further Surgery if required

Aside from these costs above, Gavin's parents (who live in the UK) are preparing to make the journey over to be with Gavin and support him. Both of Gavin's parents are retired pensioners and are gathering together any savings they have to pay for their flights, quarantine hotel and further accommodation on quarantine exit, so that they can be with their son.

We ask that you give as little, or as much, as you can to support Gavin and his family during this incredibly difficult time.

We will be incredibly grateful for any contributions and we are hoping to pull everyone together from our School and wider community to help.Gavin, his family, friends and colleagues all thank you for donations.
