CRIBS FOUNDATION, INC.

CRIBS Foundation, Inc. (formerly known as CRIBS Philippines)  started in 1974 when 2 Lutheran missionary wives brought home two children from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.  CRIBS was the first non-government organization in the Philippines to implement Foster Care Program.

In 1979, CRIBS was incorporated as a non-stock non-profit organization with the Securities and Exchange Commission.  On the same year, it has opened its home called Receiving Home for abandoned, surrendered and neglected infants by renting a house in Antipolo.

In 1983, CRIBS was licensed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development as a child welfare agency to care for the abandoned, surrendered, neglected infants and female minors of sexual abuse.  In 1986, with the proliferation of street children, CRIBS expanded its program to sexually exploited and prostituted girls on the street through the New Beginnings Program.

n 1999, the Consuelo Foundation provided funds with CRIBS/ counterpart to construct a three storey building for
the sexually abused female minors. The facility is located in the same compound where the old house of CRIBS for
the babies at. It can accommodate twenty six (26) girls and twenty six (26) infants at a time. Faithful to CRIBS mission, we, the management and staff of CRIBS are committed to continue serving these disadvantaged children to the best that we can.

To this date, CRIBS has served thousands of abandoned, surrendered, neglected and abused children.

violence and abuse.

Our Mission:

CRIBS is committed to the care and development, healing and recovery of children i need
of special protection.  CRIBS' shall also create opportunities for the staff, donors and volunteers to become whole and empowered instruments in this changing social realities.
