澳門至友協會/Best Buddies Macao於2014年成立，是Best Buddies International的分會。Best
Buddies是一個非牟利國際組織，由安東尼•肯尼迪•施萊佛（Anthony Kennedy Shriver）於1989年成立, 總部位於美國邁亞密，在56個國家和地區開展至友計劃，共有2587個大學和中學的至友分社。我們全球的八個計劃包括
– 社區至友計劃，大學至友計劃，電子至友計劃，高中至友計劃，融入性就業計劃，中學至友計劃，至友大使計劃和推廣者計劃。這些計劃每年對於超過1,306,780人產生者積極影響。
我們的全球使命是建立一個志願者運動從而為智力和發育有缺陷人士（people with intellectual and developmental
disabilities）創造一對一的友誼，融入性就業及發展領導力的機會。我們的願景是使至友共融概念成為普世觀念。
澳門至友協會自2014年5月開始正式運作至2019年末
- 舉辦了約350次活動，參加總人次達到10,624，其中至友（智力和發育有缺陷人士）3,507人次
- 已成功配對242對至友好友（友誼維持一年/一學年）
澳門至友協會現階段在本澳開展的計劃包括「高中至友計劃」、「大學至友計劃」以及「社區至友計劃」。至友計劃的合作主人站（host sites）包括：澳門弱智人士家長協進會、澳門扶康會、澳門特殊奧運會及協同特殊學校。
校園至友計劃參與學校則包括：澳門大學、旅遊學院、澳門科技大學、培正中學、聖保祿學校。
學生們通過參與至友計劃更加理解智力和發展有缺陷人士，對弱勢群體更加接納及包容，他們自身的領導力，溝通及協調能力也得以提高。在職義工通過參與“一對一”的友誼，生命更加充實有意義，同時他們關懷他人，服務社會的態度及感恩積極的人生觀也正面影響他們周圍的人。

Best Buddies Macao
Association was established in 2014, a local incorporation of Best Buddies
International in Macao. Best Buddies, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, was
founded in 1989 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver, the headquarter is located in
Miami, United States. Best Buddies programs engage participants in 54 countries
and regions and we have 2,587 university and secondary school chapters across
the globe. Our eight global programs – Best Buddies Citizens, Colleges,
e-Buddies®, High Schools, Jobs, Middle Schools, Ambassadors and Promoters – are
positively impacting more than
1,306,780
individuals every year.
Our Global Mission is to
establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one
friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with
intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Best Buddies Macao
started from May 2014 until the end of 2019:
- 350 activities, the total number of
participations reached 10,624 people, which included 2,844 buddies (IDD).
- 242 paired up friends (the friendship maintained
one year / one school year).
- The total number of registered volunteers
reached 725 people.
Currently, Best
Buddies Macao runs High Schools, Colleges and Citizens programs. We have four partner host sites in Macao: Associacao
dos Familiares Encarregados dos Deficientes Mentais de Macau, Fuhong Macao, Macao
Special Olympics and Concordia School For Special Education.
Local schools which
have already launched Best Buddies Programs include University of Macau (UMAC),
Institute for Tourism Studies, Macau University of Science and Technology
(MUST), Pui Ching Middle School and St. Paul School.
For the school
programs, students gain a better understanding towards people with IDD and
further their awareness of inclusion of vulnerable groups into the community is
raised by participating in best buddies’ programs. At the same time, students’ leadership,
communication and coordination skills are effectively strengthened during the
process of planning, designing and organizing activities. For the citizen
program, adult volunteers willingly engage themselves in the highly committed
service of "one to one" friendship in their spare time. Their life is
enriched. Moreover, their genuine care
for others and their true acceptance for people with disabilities as equals are
progressively impacting on the people around them and changing the community.
