One week ago, one of the refugees who temporary lives in Malaysia (while his UNHCR case was under review) was admitted to hospital for severe dengue fever. After being in ICU for only a few days, unfortunately he passed away due to severe internal bleeding and organ failure. Since he was the only person responsible for financially support his family, he left them in a critical condition without any source of income or the permission to work (because they are foreigners and without working visas) and also with a considerable hospital bill of more than RM18,000 just to release the body from the hospital. His wife and his 11-year old son are not only shocked because of their sudden loss, but also afraid of the future because they should survive at least one more year in Malaysia waiting for the result of their refugee case. Without any family member to financially help them and absolutely no support from Malaysian government, there is no chance that they could survive here. This fundraising is to support them for one year (minimum RM2000/month to cover their accommodation, daily expenses and the son's education).
We look forward to receive help from those generous and kind people who care about others and thank them for their support.
