Hi folks, hola amigos (Spanish below), It is the month of October where the world turns a shade of pink in support of breast cancer awareness. We have been shocked this year time and time again when we have learnt that friends of ours have been battling breast cancer (two of whom are our age!). We never think that it will happen to us or to people we know. Thankfully, due to early detection, all our friends have come through treatment successfully. To help raise awareness and support, Rafael and I will be joining our friends from the Entrepreneurs Organisation of Malaysia in climbing Mount Kinabalu, which at 4,095m is the tallest mountain in SE Asia. The climb will take place over 3 days from the 17th to the 19th October and we plan to reach the summit to watch the sunrise on the morning of the 18th. Every step we take will be in support of The Breast Cancer Support Society of Negeri Sembilan, a local Malaysian charity who really needs financial assistance to ensure that they can continue to offer much needed services to women in the state of Negeri Sembilan. En los últimos meses varias amigas nos han sorprendido con la noticia de esta enfermedad. Afortunadamente y gracias a un tratamiento exitoso todas ellas se encuentran fuera de peligro. Por ello Anna y yo queremos ayudar a esta causa con una iniciativa singular. Nos hemos puesto rumbo a Mont Kinabalu, la montaña más alta del Sudeste Asiático (4.095m), con un grupo de amigos de la Enterperneur Organization de Malaysia, confiando en poder recaudar fondos. Empezamos nuestra escalada el día 17 y esperamos estar en la cumbre en el amanecer del día 18. Nuestros pasos estarán encaminados a apoyar la Breast Cancer Support Siciety of Negeri Sembilan, una pequeña asociación malasia que realmente necesita el dinero para proseguir con su tarea de prevención y diagnóstico precoz en las mujeres de la región.
