My Story
The lack of legal recognition of refugee in Malaysia has resulted into the limited access for basic necessities, such as healthcare and education. Education is an integral part of an individual to enable social mobility and self-autonomy. The lack of legal status has made it impossible for refugees to be enrolled in public schools and therefore they rely on alternatives such as learning centers, community schools, and NGOs. However this can be quite challenging due to the lack of funds. The accumulated money here will go to ensuring that refugee children are provided with adequate level of education through programs, workshops, and real life classroom learning experiences.
