Every donation, big or small, counts towards creating a better future for refugee children. We appreciate your support!

My Story

“Inclusive, good quality education is a foundation for dynamic and equitable societies” - Desmond Tutu

As of March 2020, there are 179520 registered refugees and asylum seekers in Malaysia. Many refugee children are denied of education from schools because of their refugee status. UNHCR estimates only 30% of refugee children are fortunate enough to receive education from community learning centres.

“Light a Refugee’s Dream” is a project founded by AIESEC in Taylor’s University, which aims to improve the education level of refugee children. This project is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, by the United Nations (UN). AIESEC volunteers are actively involved in teaching the children English and Mathematics to improve their proficiency and spark their interest in learning. In addition, volunteers will conduct a donation drive to raise funds and awareness about the current refugee crisis.
