Andean Volcanoes Challenge 2020

After completing the Snowdonia Challenge in 2010, Kilimanjaro in 2011, the Sahara Trek in 2013, Aconcagua and The Inca Trail in 2014, the Gobi Desert Trek in 2016, and Greenland in 2018, this is our latest adventure to raise money for Charity.

On 1 March 2020, 12 HSBC colleagues from Hong Kong join 88 other HSBC colleagues from around the world to trek 100km through the high altitude volcanic region in Ecuador.

This is not for the fainthearted, as it is physically demanding and culminates at 4,200m (13,780ft) above sea level, on one of the highest active volcanoes in the world.

With no access to typical facilities, everyone will be carrying their own personal equipment and camping gear for 5 days, sleeping rough in the middle of nowhere, in order to raise money and awareness for mental health.

Colleagues from Hong Kong have chosen to partner with Mind HK, one of Hong Kong’s leading mental health charity charities, committed to improving awareness and understanding of mental health in the city.

Donations will be made to Mind HK to raise awareness and understanding of mental health in Hong Kong. Let’s work together to show mental health matters and to ensure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.
