My Story

Rumah Ozanam Klang is a children’s welfare home in Klang for underprivileged girls aged between 4 to 12 years.
These children are from needy families, including the orphans and the abandoned children from single mothers who were unable to take care of them due to poverty. This is the main reason that led to the establishment of Rumah Ozanam Klang (ROK). The welfare home aims to provide these young and underprivileged girls with shelter in order to nurture them and help them to grow in a safe, positive and conducive environment. The children are from various backgrounds and are taught how to gain self-confidence and live independently.

We are a team of Psychology students from HELP University trying to help raise funds and awareness for this organization. We plan on doing so through online donations and other activities such as charity sales by selling food, organic plants and handmade soaps. The main concern for ROK is that it does not get enough recognition as it is not a well-known organization due to distance from the city center, does not have enough funds and lacks teachers to help educate the children. They need more exposure and adequate funds for basic necessities such as food, school supplies, medical expenses and petrol for transportation. Our goal is to help raise awareness for these children in order for them to gain recognition and acknowledgement, as well as raise funds to help them survive in the long run and provide them with good education.

All funds raised for this organization will solely go to ROK for the children’s education and well-being. A minimum of RM500 is aimed to be raised.
