What is Ramadan Donation Drive?

Ramadan is a month full of blessings. It is also the month of giving and caring for those struggling with poverty and those facing dire living conditions. This Ramadan, we aim to fundraise for the underprivileged student communities in Malaysia. These donations are investments in closing the education inequality gap faced by these students and will go towards funding The Kalsom Movement's summer educational empowerment initiatives.

Who are our beneficiaries?

Since the establishment of The Kalsom Movement in 1994, thousands of underprivileged students who belong to the B40 families living in poverty-stricken areas of Malaysia have benefited from the succesful initiatives done by the movement . These students do not receive the same education quality nor opportunities as compared to students who are more fortunate. Therefore, we as an organisation hope to bridge this gap through the programmes and educational camps that we hold throughout the year.

This year, we are continuing our efforts by benefitting students from Perak, Penang, Selangor, Kedah, Pahang via online platforms and our physical camps in summer.   

How can you help us?

In the spirit of sharing our blessings with others, we invite you to donate to support these students in their transition into the mainstream education system. As such, all proceeds from the Ramadan Donation Drive will be directed towards funding our programmes and initiatives for 2022.  This includes bearing the costs of the venues, modules, training sessions, care packages to the beneficiaries as a motivation incentive, and other necessary costs to cater 240 beneficiaries and facilitators of the programmes. With these donations, we can make a difference and continue towards providing these students with quality education.

We appreciate any amount of contribution in building a brighter future for our students in Malaysia. Every RM1 donated provides a lifetime of impact for these students . Every ringgit counts!
