Every child must be protected from all forms of harm. 

Save the Children has been at the forefront of promoting and advocating for Positive Discipline by working with children, their parents and caregivers, and the government. As we shift to the new normal, it has become even more essential for parents to learn about and apply the principles of Positive Discipline. Through our programs, we are providing parents and caregivers with the necessary support to ensure that every child can grow up in a nurturing home that is conducive for their growth and development.

Help 530 families adjust to the new normal by giving them parenting and learning kits. These kits can further support adults in the household to be equipped with lessons on supporting children during the pandemic. A donation of Php 800 will provide a family with parenting and learning kits that contain hygiene and learning supplies, and printed parenting materials on Positive Discipline and how it can be applied in the new normal.

In the last 40 years, we have been working to address corporal punishment by conducting studies on its prevalence and analysis on laws related to the discipline of Filipino children. These were then used as a basis for the development of a bill that seeks to eliminate corporal punishment. Positive Discipline was then introduced and the organization continued to work on this through constituency-building, legislative advocacy work, and strengthening of partnerships both with local and national NGOs.
