INTRODUCTION

Play Unlimited is a pioneer social enterprise that aims to utilize play in facilitating community building as well as the nurturing of one’s overall sense of well-being. We inspire people in inclusive and creative play for life (from early childhood to adulthood).

VISION (Why we do what we do)

Enabling a Circular Economy for toy recycling to support play for all. We aim to create a Circular Economy for the toy industry in Malaysia that connects manufacturers, distributors, purchasers (public) and plastic recycling stakeholders who have excess stock, returns or preloved toys that Play Unlimited will collect, clean, sort, repack for these to be sent to marginalised communities that have little or no access to toys and learning materials for their children, preschools or schools (SDG 10 & SDG 17). Thus, reducing inequalities in early care and education. This will also prevent at least 100 tonnes of toys (90% of which are difficult to recycle PVC) from ending up in the landfills. Thus, creating a safer and healthier environment for all, while providing toys and play materials to enable an environment of positive social-emotional development for at-risk children.

The name of this visionary project is the Re:Play Project (“Recycle For Play” project) - which involves creating a nationwide network of Toy Recycling Hubs, Toy Shoppes and Toy Libraries with our community and nonprofit partners.

How funds raised will be utilised

Funds raised would be utilised to provide services that enable play for children, especially marginalised and at-risk children. We strive to make play more accessible by providing toys to children who need it most. Your fundrasing effort, and your kind and generous donations would also be used to create more safe spaces that facilitate play and learning activities for children and their families. Examples of our existing community toy library safe play spaces at:

- PPR Sri Perak, Sentul, KL

- PPR Lembah Subang 2, Selangor

- Perumahan Awam (PA) Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai, Sungai Buloh, KL

So put on your creativity cap and let the fundraising ideas juice start flowing! You can do anything to fundraise. Why not get your family, friends or colleagues involved and fundraise as a team! Make it something fun and creative for you guys to do together.

You could do anything to fundraise - Run, Walk, Bake, Give up carbs or meat for a month, etc. Do something fun or creative to raise funds for children and families in need.
