Oasis International students have the opportunity to participate in the event called Run for a Cause. For this event, students will compete as a grade against OIS staff and 5th-12th grade students to see which grade level can walk/run the most kilometers and raise the most donations for our selected charity.

We are excited about working with our students to positively impact the community around us! And get healthy!

The charities that we are supporting are:

Happy Neighbourhoods : Margaret Kogilavani is a local Malaysian who has dedicated many years to serving the less fortunate in Puchong and the surrounding areas through her organization, Jiran Ria, or “Happy Neighborhood”. In addition to running a community center for youth in the area, Margaret has delivered food to hundreds of families over MCO this year and continues to do so. Margaret relies on donors to supply the food to families.

Home of Peace: Justine Morais is also Malaysian and founder of the Home of Peace, a home for girls from underprivileged backgrounds, where emphasis is placed on education. Justine currently provides for 17 children and 3 adults (including herself) at their home in Kuala Lumpur.

FGCCI Refugee: Arshad Khokar is the UNHCR Community Leader for the Pakistani refugee community in the Serdang area. With the help and support of local donors, Arshad and his community have helped feed, educate, and support countless children and families in their community. 

Shalom Education Center: A refugee school, boarding home, and orphanage for Myanmar refugees. 

Kembara Kitchen: An organization in Kota Kemuning that organizes large scale food donations and disaster relief for thousands of families each week. Money here could also support a Middle School EAGLE Week project (potentially). 

MY Clean Beach: A program initiated to help clean up Malaysian beaches. www.mycleanbeach.org.

Malaysian Nature Society: An organisation with the goal of protect, manage, and conserve Malaysia's natural resources. www.mns.my
