PHYSICAL ‘ASD’ STORE? BREADY OR NOT, HERE I CRUMB!

HELP US TO HELP OUR CHILDREN

We are calling all of you to help us provide job opportunities and a source of income for autism people!


We are now in the midst of setting up a physical ASD store to teach, train, and market this SourDough. We, from Persatuan Kebajikan A Plus, are organizing Autism SourDough (A.S.D) and raising funds for our special children to LEARN through EXPERIENCE. Thus, the funds raised from this campaign will be utilized in these area :

1. Equipment:

   1.1) Industrial dough mixer x 2

   1.2) Stand mixer with dough hook x 5

   1.3) Mixing bowl 5 litre x 10

   1.4) Measuremen jar x 10

   1.5) Measurement cup x 10

   1.6) Measurement spoon x 10

   1.7) Container with lid (10 litre and above) x 10

   1.8) Banneton Proofing Basket Rattan Cane with Cloth Liner (Oval M size, Oval L size, Round M size, Round L size) x 10 per size

   1.9) Bread tin (S, M, L) x 10 per size

   1.10) Bread knife x 10

   1.11) Scouring knife x 10

   1.12) Silicone scrapper x 10

   1.13) Dough cutter x 10

   1.14) 4 door Stainless Steel Refridgerator x 2

   1.15) 6 door Stainless Steel Freezer x 1 

   1.16) 3 Deck 6 tray Heavy duty Industrial Oven x 2

2. Location (Kitchen setup, rental etc.)

3. Baking ingredients / raw materials


Our Objectives

1. To build a platform for Autism children to experience a working lifestyle in a real life environment by baking.         

2. To form a new teaching activity as part of our program that will benefit the children in many aspects        

3. To promote autism awareness in the society for the acceptance of our special children in this industry.


What is SourDough?

SourDough is a bread made from the naturally occurring yeast and bacteria in flour. Here is what makes it special, THE PROCESS!. It all starts with just flour and water, then nature takes its course and over time, we have a mixture that contains enough yeast to make bread rise. Pretty amazing, right? Who knew that doing so little can produce awesome results!


How does it benefit the children?

  • SourDough improves digestion and gut health than regular bread as it has less gluten.

  • Sourdough lowers insulin and blood sugar levels compared to regular bread.

  • SourDough provides a HIGH level of PROTEIN.

  • SourDough is packed with IRON, SELENIUM, & FOLATE, hence it creates antioxidants and removes phytates that can block absorption.

  • Opportunities for the children with autism to develop fine motor skills, functional skills, and also as therapy.

  • A stepping stone for them to explore and perform their hidden talent in the culinary industry.
