There are no other walks like the NASOM Walk for Autism. Everyone is included, no one is left behind. Walking together hand in hand with kids of all ages with autism and other disabilities, some even in wheelchairs. Walking with Malaysians from all walks of life regardless of age, colour, gender, religion, ancestral origin, ethnic group, social status, profession, income levels, etc. as well as expatriates and foreign visitors. It is what our society should be - inclusive.

NASOM Walk for Autism 2016 will be hosted by NASOM Gombak (centre located at Taman Rowther, Gombak, previously located at Setapak Garden) and riding is added to the event for the first time. The NASOM Walk & Ride for Autism 2016 will be held at Taman Metropolitan (Taman Layang-Layang), Kepong, on Saturday, 5 November 2016.

Walk for Autism is NASOM's annual signature event that is now in its 6th year. It is our way of raising autism awareness by giving members of the society the opportunity to get close to kids with autism and other disabilities in a natural environment. By the way, other NGOs, charities and non-profits supporting kids with autism and other disabilities do walk with us too.

We need to raise enough initial donation, sponsorship and other forms of contribution to help pay for the t-shirts that have become collectors items, goodies, goody bags, etc. that participants have come to expect when they join our walk. All funds raised through this event will be used to improve the quality of our autism intervention services and centre facilities for the benefit of children with autism attending our centres in Gombak and nationwide.

We need plenty of volunteers too to help us provide the convenience, comfort, safety and security for all participants during the event. Do give generously, and do come walk with us and our kids. Without sufficient funds to run our centres, our kids with autism and other disabilities may not be able to walk in the park with you.

For caring corporate citizens, this is an excellent opportunity to show that you care and to do good for the society.
