My Story

Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world”. 
But how are Malaysians supposed to change the world through education when the Malaysian education system favors systematic injustices based on a child’s background to determine their quality of education?
It is observed that In Malaysia, one in five pupils do not finish high school.
50% of 15-year-olds in Malaysia can’t read at their grade level. Furthermore, Malaysia has one of the lowest reading rates worldwide, at 27%.
According to Malaysian businesses, 82.5% of talent lacks management and leadership abilities.
We at “HWUM Equality for Education” are a group of individuals from Heriot-Watt Malaysia, to see if we could help by making the world a better place for the entire human race.
Our aim is to help Teach for Malaysia Foundation to fundraise so that there will be a equal opportunities for the students of Malaysia to realize their dreams without any unfair obstacles in their paths by raising awareness through our social media pages and getting the public to participate in our crowdfunding efforts to help children in need of better education.
