Personal Challenge

My Story

Hi, thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. I am attempting to cycle over 1000 miles for charity! Through you can make safe and secure donations to sponsor me. The proceeds of your support are immediately sent directly to my charity. Using this given platform is really simple and most importantly it's also a really cost efficient way for the charity to raise funds. My page allows you to follow my progress and share it with friends My challenge will be to cycle,on my road bike, the length of the Uk, a cycle challenge known to cyclists as 'The End to End. It starts at Land's End, Cornwall to John O'Groats, Scotland and I'm taking about 3 weeks to complete it. I have decided to raise money for Hong Kong Dog Rescue as I go. This is a charity close to my heart and involves dedicated people who rescue abandoned dogs in Hong Kong to then find new and loving homes. Thanks to them we have 3 dogs that we have homed and these fluffies have made great additions to our family. For more information about the trip and how I'm doing please visit my blog, For more information about the charity please go to For those of you donating, tax deductible receipts can be issued by this charity. For those donating from the Uk, if you are not happy donating through this site, as it will convert to Hk dollars, I have a Uk account and will donate from there on your behalf, email me for the account details, my email [email protected] Every little amount of money helps and it will give me motivation on rough days when the hills are particularly steep so please help towards this great cause Thank you, Karen

Well today is the day, so WELL DONE! It did not seem worth it to me, to donate until you had actually finished because it's not just a '24hr Cycle' or something small, this is a considerable distance, not a few miles, but 1141 miles more like! I would have felt bad if I donated after 10 days to find you still went on for another 50! So i've decided to donate 'per day' of cycling because I can only imagine how hard something like this must be, to set yourself a target is good, but in reality, it's always different. You've pushed on for 31 days and so I've donated '31' times :P Sure, HKD$50 is nothing really, but you could say cycling 50 miles in a day isn't much either, but over a month, that is not some small matter anymore. So well done again, your efforts and perseverance in times of hardship have earned you a lot of respect and you have shown what really can be achieved! With this now I hope lots more doggies will have better care and homes so Hong Kong will no longer just be a place full of strays, badly treated and uncared for dogs!
