Personal Challenge

As part of World Vision Malaysia's Together for Every Child Campaign, I have taken up the Water for Life Challenge. I will carry a bottle filled with dirty water everywhere I go for a month and raise funds for clean water projects around the world. Please support my effort! Every little bit counts.

My Story

Given the opportunity to work with World Vision Malaysia for a solid 6 months, I got the chance to visit one of our development projects in Tulid, Sabah where I had got to see how the poorer community from the kampungs source for water. As we are living in KL and the city where such conditions like sourcing for water are considered very foreign for us, there are still those who stay deep in the inner corners of the rural areas (where not even my colleagues and I could've gone with a 4wd); who depended on water from the river or climbing up the hills with rocky paths just to get to the top of the mountains to get fresh, clean water. It is of such conditions that humbled me. I am in the comfort of living in the city, where water - especially filtered ones - are clearly accessible the moment I wake up. But these people had to go on motorcycles (and some even by walking!!) just to get water. The water from the rivers weren't any better either. When rain, the water turns murky and a brown shade. It is of such adversity that makes me want to contribute to helping World Vision Malaysia to raise up funds to aid in water projects for these children and community.
If you and I wouldn't drink dirty water, no one else should have to go through that either.
