I'm making a difference by raising money for a cause close to my heart. Please support me by donating. Catherine's Puppies is a local Sai Kung charity and we work closely with our friend and founder Catherine, and the pup's/dogs, raising much needed funds to keep this shelter going during tough times with Covid where Catherine has lost her ability to do public fundraising events. We also adopted our gorgeous Fozzie poodle from this charity and I want to help give back during a time when it is very hard to keep on top of the never ending bills of running a shelter, adoption program and continuous bill paying for rent, vets bills, food etc.

My Story

The Maclehose Trail - Hiking & Running with a 7,000m elevation gain - close to hiking sea level to the summit of Mount Everest!

On Friday 11th - Sat 12th March, I aim to complete the famous and notorious 100km Maclehose Trail in Hong Kong, all 10 sections in reverse from Stage 10 Tuen Mun, through to Stage 1, ending near my home in Sai Kung Country Park. Since Covid stopped all hockey and sailing activities, I have been training since Christmas to get my fitness up and endurance and see if I can complete this very tricky endurance trail. I am dealing with some niggles and injuries from all the training and hope I can keep going on the day.

About the Maclehose Trail:
The MacLehose Trail is a 100-kilometre hiking trail that crosses much of the New Territories, Hong Kong, The path is marked by distance posts at 500-metre intervals. The trail is named after Murray MacLehose, Baron MacLehose of Beoch, the longest-serving governor of Hong Kong, who established the Country Parks and was himself an enthusiastic hiker. The trail passes through a variety of natural scenery including beaches and mountains.

Described as "the Grandaddy" of the Hong Kong hikes. An unforgiving 100km hike up and down some of Hong Kong’s highest peaks and through it’s most stunning landscapes. Beautiful beaches and coastlines, urban views over Kowloon, ridges, peaks, forests, jungles, reservoirs, grassland, monkeys, this hike has the lot. I

It’s not to be taken lightly though, I'll be covering over 7000m in elevation gain, that’s close to hiking sea level to the summit of Mount Everest.

Please help me when the going gets tough and I think of the donations coming in for the charity and it will keep me going to the end! Thank you all!
