My Story

Hi everyone! I will be taking part in OCBC Cycle Singapore 2013, The Super Challenge on 28th April 2013. This is my first bike race and I will be cycling 60km to raise money for Singapore Association For Mental Health. The Singapore Association for Mental Health was established in December 1968 to promote mental wellness and to empower people with mental illness in rebuilding their lives. It is a voluntary welfare organisation (non-government and non-profit), which seeks to promote the social and mental well-being of the people of Singapore. More specifically, the organisation aims to promote mental health, prevent mental illness, improve the care and rehabilitation of persons with mental illness, and to reduce the misconception and social stigma that surrounds mental illness. As a recovering patient, I wish to raise awareness about mental health and the stigma associated with it. Mental health patients are regular people who are struggling with illness and should not be branded or ostracized; they too wish to lead normal lives and be healthy.
